MHT CET Counselling 2026: Round 2 Allotment (Today), Process & Admission

The MHT CET CAP seat allotment result for CAP round 2 will be announced on August 12. Candidates can check their MHT CET 2026 seat allotment result by logging in to the candidate portal with their login details. Students have to confirm their seat by exercising the option (freeze/float/slide) and payment of seat acceptance fees. After confirming the admission, candidates also need to report to the allotted institute. To download the allotment results, candidates must follow these steps:

The MHT CET CAP choice filling is conducted in online mode. Candidates who seek admission to participating colleges must select their preferred colleges and courses in order of preference. Candidates can fill in their choices online by logging in to the website, fe2026.mahacet.org. The MHT CET CAP 2026 choice filling is held separately for each round. Since the allotment of seats will be done based on the choice-filling process, candidates are advised to fill out the option form carefully.

The authorities have concluded the MHT CET 2026 CAP round 2 option entry. Students had to log in to the CET portal and save their preferences for round 2 allotment. The step-by-step process for the option entry is given below.

• Log in using the registered application ID and password.

• Click on CAP Round Option Form.

• Search colleges using institute name, district, branch or institute code.

• Add preferred college-course combinations.

• Arrange all preferences in the desired order.

To participate in the MHT CET counselling, candidates have to register online at the counselling portal, upload scanned documents and pay the required counselling fee. The authorities will conduct 4 rounds of the MHT CET counselling and seat allotment process for admission.

The allotment of seats is done as per the MHT CET merit list 2026. Candidates allotted a seat have to confirm their admission online by paying the seat confirmation fees and reporting to the allotted institute. The complete MHT CET counselling process is online. Step 1: Registration- The first step is to register on the official website and submit your personal, communication and security details. After filling in all the details, a password needs to be generated. Once the password is generated, the remaining details need to be filled in.

After entering the above details, aspirants need to register their qualification details (subject-wise and overall marks in 10th and 12th standard along with the name of the board) and examination details.

Step 2: Uploading Scanned Documents- At this step, aspirants will have to upload their scanned documents, photograph and signature of file size 4KB to 100KB and dimensions 3.5*4.5cm and 1KB to 30KB and 3.5*1.5cm respectively.

Step 3: Payment of Counselling Fees- Lastly, aspirants will be required to pay the counselling fees on an online basis as per their category.

• General Category, Outside Maharashtra State Applicant and Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries: Rs 1000
• Reserved Category from Maharashtra State and Persons with Disability applicants from Maharashtra would be: Rs 800
• Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Foreign National: Rs. 5000

Step 4: Release of Merit List- The admission committee has released the MHT CET merit list for CET and JEE Mains candidates. Students are also allowed to raise objections to the merit list if they come up with any issue related to their position in the merit list.

Step 5: Choice Filling- Candidates will have to fill in their preferred college and branch (specialisation). The allotment of seats in the college will be based on their marks in the merit list.  

Step 6: Seat Allotment- Candidates will be allotted seats based on their choice filled and merit position. Candidates will have to report to the allotted college and submit the admission fee to confirm the seat.

CET Cell releases two separate merit lists for MHT CET, based on MHT CET scores and JEE Main scores. The authorities have released the provisional merit list. The grievance window for the provisional merit list was open from July 23 to 25. To raise objection to the provisional merit list, candidates had to visit the facilitation centre (FC) or submit their grievances online by logging in to the website.

The authorities take all the objections into consideration to prepare the final merit list. Candidates can check the MHT CET final merit list 2026 at fe2026.mahacet.org. Students have to use their application number and date of birth to access the allotment status.

At the time of registration, candidates have the option of e-scrutiny of documents (online) and the physical scrutiny at facilitation centres. Candidates who select e-scrutiny, their documents verified online, and the acknowledgement slip will be generated. In the case of physical scrutiny, candidates have to visit the facilitation centre for verification of documents.

Candidates who have registered for MHT-CET 2026 are not required to pay any fee for registration for admission. However, other candidates applying through JEE Main or NEET (UG) and have not registered for MHT CET 2026 are required to pay fee as given below only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI etc. Fees paid is non-refundable.
