Yes, Elphinstone College is a premier Institute in Maharashtra. It was established in the year 1835. Elphinstone, Mumbai was affiliated with the University of Mumbai in 1860. Institute offers Degree and Certificate courses including 5 Undergraduate and 4 Postgraduate courses in Full Time mode. At the Undergraduate level, the college offers three-year Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Commerce courses to students. The popular courses offered by the Elphinstone College includes BA, B.Sc, and BCom. BA and B.Sc. are offered with three majors in different subject combinations with over 100 seats while BCom is offered with over 50 seats. 

Candidates with a Bachelors degree  in any Life sciences (Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental science, Life science, Microbiology, Zoology,  Pharmacy, Veterinary science), BTech (Biotechnology) with an overall percentage of 50% is eligible for the MSc programme at Elphinstone College. Eligible candiates might have to participate for the interview conducted by the college.

The college has excellent faculty members but absolutely disappointed with the poor management. Placements: The placement percentage of students in B.A. is very low. Rarely does any top company visits the campus for placement purposes. Students who are seeking good placement should not come to Elphinstone.
