The college has good facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: The school offers career guidance programs by inviting various experts. It also offers civil services coaching and mentorship for students. The school provides an opportunity for different internships. Future prospects are also very bright and promising.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the hostel and university is amazing. The classrooms are spacious. The hostel rooms are well-maintained. Wi-Fi works well at both hostel and university. The central library has a separate section for books related to social sciences. GITAM hostel food is much better than other hostels. A doctor and good medical facilities are available in the hostel. Both the university and hostel have good sports equipment for students.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful. They don't confine knowledge to lectures and material. They provide overall development through discussions and highly relevant examples. They take care of every student. They explain concepts in some of the most interesting ways possible.

GSHS is a better place to study arts and humanities.
Placements: GSHS is fairly a new school in GITAM and doesn't provide a placement facility. However, the faculty members help students to find internships. Even the department collaborates with other institutions such as CHSS (Center for Human Security Studies), etc., in order to create a pathway for students who are interested in internships. However, there is no guarantee for students to get placed right after their graduation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good both on our campus and hostel. I was a hosteller earlier, and the facilities provided in the hostel were up to the mark. The transport facility is also quite good. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with projectors. Though the Wi-Fi facility is available, it is not satisfactory as it is limited to only department areas. Our campus has a central library, which has a huge collection of books. Besides a central library, GSHS also has a department library, which helps all of us to find books related to humanities. As far as our subjects are concerned, our department has a psychology lab which is well-equipped. But there is a scope for improvement.
Faculty: B.A. faculty members here are highly knowledgeable, experienced and well versed with the subjects. Most of them have a PhD from prestigious universities. They teach us through practical examples and assignments. They act as mentors rather than professors.
Other: Our college has various student clubs such as Kalakriti, etc., where students can showcase their talent in whatever activity they are interested in like dancing, singing, writing, painting, etc. Our college also organises many events, which helps in the overall development of students.

There are very good faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: The department does a very good job of helping us to find internships. Moreover, it will be very much helpful if the timings of internships coincide with our class timings. We were also provided with premium Coursera accounts for a few months to gain additional knowledge from third parties.
Infrastructure: Canteens, sports and indoor games facilities are outstanding here, and they exceeded my expectations when I first joined here. There was also a lot of improvement in facilities over the past few years. The infrastructure is one of the main aspects which attracts students to join our university.
Faculty: Lecturers of our department are very understanding. Almost all of them have their PhDs from other reputed universities. They are super helpful in clearing doubts or giving career guidance and its related issues. The best part of our university is the lecturers of our department.
Other: You will get scholarships based on your merit. The campus crowd is very diverse, and students are from various different states and from other countries also. Our college organises a fest named Pramana, which attracts over 2,000 people every year.

GSHS is a new institute to choose for arts and humanities.
Placements: GSHS is relatively a new school in Hyderabad, and none of the batches has graduated yet. Our batch is the first to pass out, and I have seen the evolution of school over the first three years. Though we might not get placed directly in any company or organisation, there is a huge scope for internship opportunities and apprentice positions which are guided by well-known faculty members. Very supportive administration and faculty members have been paying personal attention to us and guiding us throughout the course.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility provided for students has considerable speed and is available in the department area. Every classroom is equipped with a projector, a computer system and other necessary digital equipment. Since our batch has a small group of students, the classrooms are very spacious. The psychology lab has the necessary equipment for beginners like us. Faculty members provide interactive sessions with tests, kits and equipment in the labs. The department library has a good collection of English literature. The main library has a section for our department with psychology, political science, economics, media & communication, and other subjects' textbooks. From what I have heard, hostels are spacious and well maintained. Canteens are situated throughout the campus area and serve delicious food. The indoor room has TT, carrom and chess equipment and provides football, basketball, and other outdoor sports equipment. For badminton, there is a single court as of now, but the indoor court is under construction.
Faculty: Our batch is the experimental batch. Many courses are introduced now, and the scope for choice of choosing courses has increased since the college has started this course first. The course structure has been updated to better, and it is more enjoyable with new teaching practices. Faculty members are supportive and follow a student-centric approach and are always friendly.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it provides holistic development. I opted to study this course only because of having an interest in it. I have enjoyed studying English literature from a psychological approach and understanding developments in the field of psychology with respect to the political conditions of that time and place. There is really nothing to complain about our college since the administration has been actively adopting new and improved techniques and hiring more faculty members to teach the course better to students. All faculty members are very encouraging and supportive to participate in campus activities and other activities. Student clubs are very active and conduct literary and cultural fests often. Other small events are also conducted every week. The campus life is very enjoyable though we are not allowed to go out of the campus until evening. I was fortunate to get a merit scholarship at the beginning of my academic career, which has encouraged me to score a GPA of over 8 every semester.

Q:   Is it good to pursue BA in English literature?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:
Hi Balaji, Once graduated in B. A. (Hons.) English literature, you could do your M.A. or an MBA. There are several higher study options for meritorious graduates in English language and literature, such as journalism and mass communication; management; tourism administration; law; international relations; linguistics; communication management; film editing and direction; visual communication; and library and information science and forms of creative arts like drama and cinema. You can explore the option of doing some specialised post graduate courses for which graduation is needed in the field of media, multimedia, public relations, foreign languages, teaching, social work, finance, retail, design, hospitality, stocks, aviation etc. based on your interests and strengths. If you have a flair for writing, have good communication skills and a reading habit, journalism or mass communication is a good choice. You could also opt for academic careers like teaching and research and particularly training. English language training is a big and growing sector in India with jobs freelance and full-time options as an English language trainer or a voice and accent trainer. English can also help in being a part of call centres, TV, Radio, reporting and also in the advertising industry. You can also work in an embassy. I hope it helps. Please feel free to revert. Wish you luck.
