Gokhale, a holistic college.
Placements: There were no placements given by the college. In three years, we had heard of no placements, and didn't even hear that someone else was getting any kind of placements from the college either. So, do not expect any kind of job opportunities from the college.
Infrastructure: The campus was clean, and the toilets were also well-maintained. Classrooms and seminar rooms were spacious and clean. The library was quiet and clean, with question papers available. Books were also well-maintained, and all kinds of books were found. Hygiene was maintained properly.
Faculty: Professors used to help and guide students with everything. Exams were also taken in a proper way. The faculty was quite helpful.
Other: Extracurricular activities were there, and the annual function was held. Girls are involved in dancing, singing, recitation of poetry, drama, plays, etc.

Nice experience to be a student of this college.
Placements: My college is under Calcutta university. So naturally, it doesn't offer any placement to B.A. or B.Sc. students, but students from vocational courses get placed at my college. I know many seniors from the communication, vocational, sales and advertising departments who want to get placed at companies like SVF cinemas, Amazon, Zomato, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college does not provide any hostel facilities. My friends who are outstation students stay at PGs; they found out personally. Apart from that, our college infrastructure is pretty good; we have AC in some of the rooms. The library is literally my favourite spot at the college. Overall, it was a nice experience here.
Faculty: The professors at my college, especially in my department, are very good and friendly. They are all highly qualified, except some. But the flaws I find in them are that the class routine they make is very mismanaged and often my classes clash with other classes. I am from the English department and I like what I am studying. The exams are of course hard at Calcutta University, but not very much. If you start preparing beforehand, you can easily score good marks in the semester exams.
Other: Some of the old faculty members really test your patience here in the history and political science department. Some professors cancel classes at the at the last minute without notifying beforehand, which, according to my friends in any other colleges under Calcutta University, is a very common thing. Apart from that, our college doesn't organise any festivals, but we do have a lot of events going on all year round. The annual day function is one of my favorite days spent with my friends, to be honest.

Gokhale Memorial girls' College provided us a politics free campus.
Placements: Since I chose and studied in a discipline of Humanities I did not witness any student from my batch to be recruited as resulted from placements. Thereby students from the batch I belonged to did not get recruited and only as a medium of an educational institution it provided us knowledge from the course I studied for three years.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure that was available was very warm and reliable, as the whole campus did not seem like a place for anything but only encompassed around studies and the Library was a place in the whole building where after a tedious day you can go and get indulged with serenity all around in books where there is availability of Wi-Fi and access to other book reading sites.
Faculty: The respected professors were highly qualified and assisted with every single issue that the students had with studies and even sometimes there were larger than the problems of studies for instance washroom related issues were solved with patience taken by the professors. The teaching quality was so much enriching and indulging of the professors we witnessed that they resembled nothing other than Laureates and could listen to all day long to their lectures (in our cases the associated professors had the grace)
The semesters were moderately difficult but helped us to reach and understand further courses.
Other: I chose this course because I was inclined with the subject History and wanted to study it further. Absolutely nothing about my course I wished to change
Unfortunately no events and fests happened frequently because we did not have funds to organize such big events and in our time of during the course we managed to organize Teacher's Day and Fresher's that too in the most the simplest way by actually contributing all together.

It has good faculty, a well-equipped library, amazing curriculum but not many co-curricular things.
Placements: We are yet to get placed. However, in our course, i.e., psychology, we need to study further before we can get placed. Various companies conduct workshops and seminars here. The placement rate depends on the course subject. There are no placements for psychology.
Infrastructure: The library is extremely nice and well-equipped here. Laboratories are huge and well-equipped, and the classrooms are huge and spacious. Sports are held every year, and every student can participate in them. The food served here is average, but there is no Wi-Fi facility. However, there is a common room where students can relax.
Faculty: The teachers here are very experienced and knowledgeable. They provide relevant study material and notes. They are approachable and well versed with the subject. The course curriculum contains all the fields and topics related to the subject. Calcutta University has one of the best curricula for psychology Honours.
Other: The crowd is very friendly and approachable here. Our college provides scholarships. We can participate in various tests and events organised by other colleges.

If you value learning over fests, then you can opt for GMGC.
Placements: I have not completed my degree yet, but because of the lockdown, our final examination got delayed. Our last batch passed in 2019, and there are about 20-22 students in our department, i.e., vocational English. Among them, 5-6 students got a job last year. The top recruiting company was TCS. It is mandatory to do an internship as per our course module, so all students have done at least one internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good with well-maintained classrooms, labs and language labs and a well-stocked library. Security is tight, and nobody is allowed on campus without an ID card. The hostel is not available, and it will be extremely helpful if management can avail this in future. Our campus is very small because Gokhle Memorial Girls School is also located on the same campus. So we have little space to spare and in this high-density area in Kolkata. The college is just opposite of SSKM hospital.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified and punctual. Attendance of 75% is mandatory. Every year at least one teacher-parent meeting is held. I wish teachers to cooperate with us a bit more. If a teacher is not coming to a scheduled lecture, then they can inform us at advance as many of us come from pretty distances, and it would be very helpful. The course curriculum is very good because it is a job-oriented course.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is an industry-ready curriculum. Other mainstream courses fall short at the time of seeking a job. I wish management should conduct annual fests, and it is not conducted at any girls colleges. Our campus is located in the middle of the city with great connectivity through bus, train and metro. Rabindra Sadam metro station is just a few minutes walks. Every facility is available within walking distance.

The college has good placements, friendly environment and excellent facilities.
Placements: About 86.92% of the students get an internship in government jobs, B.Com school teachers and also in M.Com. They got internships as our college helps us to take the initiative in different activities. It helps us to interact with people which also helps during our interview in companies.
Infrastructure: Our college provides sports-related equipment through which every student can reach their interests in their particular field. There is also a canteen which provides good food in pocket-friendly price, and there is also a common room where we can hang out and get relax.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-experienced and highly-qualified. They are like friends with whom we can share everything without any hesitation. Our course is relevant, and our college also prepares us for our internship in different companies.
Other: I have chosen Hindi Hons because from my childhood I have quite an interest in Hindi literature, and I like to write. The best thing about my course is I can express what I want to tell through my writing, and the semester system helps us to score good marks in our examination. One thing that I liked about college is the friendly environment. Staff members, teachers and friends of our college are very good.

Great 3 years experience of my life. This college is one of the oldest and ranks top.
Placements: This is a college providing Bachelor's degree in Arts and Science subjects. It comes under the University of Calcutta. There were not many placements held in college however few did opt for the campus placements done by TCS and were selected. Some GOT help from teachers to go for internships with the help of reference, especially students of the Advertising department.
Infrastructure: The faculty members are all Ph.D. graduates and experienced teachers. The number of female teachers were more in comparison to male faculty members. They were really kind and helpful. The library is a stand-out. There was no hostel inside the campus however there were many girls PGs nearby hence accommodation for students coming from outside was never a problem. This is a renowned college, especially because of its Psychology department.
Faculty: The teaching quality was absolutely excellent with well-known teachers of Kolkata. They are all Research or Ph.D. qualified hence the quality of teaching could not have been better. Very homely environment. The teachers were very kind and helpful. However, there are strict rules that the college follow and attendance of 75% throughout is a must. The curriculum structure follows the curriculum set by the University of Calcutta, which is no doubt, a world famous one.
Other: There are many events held throughout the year, both students and faculty driven. Renowned speakers and faculty members of other colleges visit frequently and hold seminar sessions. The Annual Sports and Annual Day are the main events apart from the others like Teacher's Day for example.

Gokhale is an amazing college.
Placements: The 3rd year students can sit for interviews. Reputed firms and companies visit the college and select the eligible students. In my year, two companies came, and 22 of us got jobs. I got placed in both the companies. The salary package offered is not satisfactory, but with promotion, one can certainly get a good amount after some time.
Infrastructure: The campus is not huge, but it certainly isn't that bad. It has an auditorium. The college shares its campus with a school. The small place binds the students together, as a result, most of the students had many friends from other departments as well. Bathrooms are well maintained and have an automatic sanitary napkin vending machine.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very good. This college never compromises on education. My subject was English, and we had a beautiful bonding with our professors. Every year, we had an annual picnic and exhibition. Professors always help students with books, further studies and they also provide personal guidance.
Other: There are several extracurricular activities for students. Many scholarships are provided for poor and meritorious students. One needs to have a good result in order to get into this college. The college is located in the heart of the city, and many places of interest are located nearby. Hence by no means, the campus life is boring.
