B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.6
Good placements from last year.
Placements: There is 80–90% placement in Mechanical Engineering, and other branches also get good placements. The highest package is 7 LPA. Companies like Adani, Lloyds, Cipla, Dalmia, and many more visit the campus. There are CIIIT courses organized by Tata Technologies, which are more effective and valuable for more knowledge.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very good, but Wi-Fi is available in all departments and the library. Students can use the college library till 9 PM for their studies. The hostel is nice compared to other government colleges. The mess is not provided by the college. We need to pay for it separately.
Faculty: The quality of teachers is good. Most of the permanent faculty members are MPSE and GATE qualified. The visiting faculty is also good. All the basic concepts and theories that are helpful in Mechanical Engineering are covered in classes, which help at the industry level.

The college has experienced faculty and a decent college life.
Placements: I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. The college surroundings have many core companies that visit every year to recruit students. From my experience, I can say that the core placements in the college are the best. This year, about 90% of students from my branch got placed.
Infrastructure: The college has all the required facilities like Wi-Fi and a hostel. It mainly provides 6 branches. Based on my experience, the core branches have an upper hand in this college. The college has Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Instrumentation, and Civil branches.
Faculty: I can say about my branch there are experienced faculty members who provide all the required knowledge to students. A major advantage of this college is Tata's investment of 263 crores. Tata mainly runs labs of CIIIT, which offer different courses that are up-to-date and knowledgeable.
Other: I have a strong family background in the field of mechanical engineering, so I am quite familiar with mechanical engineering topics, which is why I chose this branch. The college organizes a fest called Abhirang every year in the month of February. There are also sports days and technical events are not very big level, but decent for the college level.

The college has poor infrastructure development. It doesn't have a proper road and old building.
Placements: This college offers lots of placement and gives the average package of 3 lacs per annum. Nearly 50 percent of students get placed. This college has a high placement ratio in mechanical and instrumentation engineering. Companies like Adani Power Limited, Byju's, and Dalmia come for placement.
Infrastructure: We had a departmental library in our department building, which provides all the data that is required of us. Each room has a Wi-Fi facility and has a projector place inside. Hostel rooms are very good; each room can consist of 2 students, and all-year students can live in a hostel with a capacity of 200 students.
Faculty: In the mechanical department, we had all permanent teaching faculty who had pursued there graduation or postgraduate degrees from top colleges like IIT and NIT. Yes, the curriculum is best for our course as it provides all the required techniques and skills to us.

From the study point of view and the feeling point of view, this college is the best.
Placements: Every year, many students get placement on campus. Major companies that meet the requirement are Tata Technologies, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Reliance, and Adani Power. There are top power plants that allow students to do internships. The average package offered by the companies is 4-5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college has a big library that provides all types of books related to curriculum and competitive exams. The college has its own hostel, which has a capacity of about 250 students. The college provides a 24-hour Wi-Fi facility to the students. The college also conducts all types of sports with the required equipment.
Faculty: The teachers of the government college of engineering in Chandrapur are highly qualified. All the teachers are passed out from the institute, like iities, nities, and many more. The curriculum is so basic that students don't get industry-ready, but they get basic knowledge about all related things. Semester exams are moderate; if you prepare well, you can pass the exam.
Other: There are investments in tata technologies for the mechanical engineering students. There are many extra things we can learn from this. The college organized various events at different times. Abhirang is the main and biggest event organised at the college.

Proud to be an GECEian (GCEOC).
Placements: Companies like Hi-Tech, Infosys, Wipro, etc., visit the college. Only 5 to 6 students got selected in placements. Students should be intelligent and be able to tackle any points when a risky situation arises. They should have knowledge related to computer and programming. The recruiters check the students' knowledge by conducting aptitude test. All the students are aware of internships, i.e., CSTPS, ST Workshop, etc. Several companies visit the college for recruitment, every year. More than 45 students were placed in the academic year 2015-16.
Infrastructure: The campus is spread over an area of 63 acres. The campus has a central library and a gym. Hostels are available for both boys and girls, with an intake of 176 and 156 respectively. The library is well-furnished, and digitalised books transaction is being done for 10 years through the digitalised system. The transaction of around 700 books is carried out for students and faculty members, on a daily basis. 2 sports grounds are available.
Faculty: Dr G. Bhutada is a PhD holder in bio-medical image processing from IIT, Roorkee. He is an associate professor and principal. Prof. Mohan M. Akole has qualified B.E. instrumentation engineering and M.Tech in system engineering from IIT R, working as an assistant professor and head. Prof. P. V. Chilbule qualified B.E. mechanical engineering and M.Tech in HPE; he is an assistant professor. Prof. G. R Chavan, M.E qualified in CAD-CAM, is the assistant professor.
Other: Abhi-Rung is the cultural event of the college, held in January every year. Abhi Tantra is a national level annual technical festival (event) organised by the college in March, every year. Hostels, placement assistance, NSS, gymkhana, etc., are provided by the college.

Good infrastructure and faculty members.
Placements: The placement is not that good because of the remote area although the college has tied up with some colleges at Nagpur for the placements. From the last 2 years, 2-3 companies are visiting the college for placements. From the senior batch, no one has got placed at TCS or Wipro that visited in the year, 2017. There is a placement cell in our college which is started recently in the year 2017.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is good. The college has sufficient space, classrooms, labs, the hostels for boys and girls, library and Wi-Fi enabled campus. Also, the college has permanent staff. The food available in the canteen is good. Each and every classroom is digitalised.
Faculty: The faculty members have the eminent knowledge, and they are ready to share their knowledge anytime. They are helpful in studies and other activities too which improves the student's personality. The curriculum is very much similar to all the universities in India. The teachers provide notes although by taking the assignment, they try to make balance in practical an theoretical knowledge. The curriculum includes the case study, industrial training and industrial visits too.
Other: The college organises techfest, seminars for personality development and social awareness. The college has various associations at the department level and collegiate clubs too. The college had participated in the national competition like NEKC which is electric kart event and students represented our college at the BAJA competition.

My college is the best college. Proud to be GECean.
Placements: The college is situated on the Chandrapur Ballarshah highway. It is gifted with the most talented teacher who is always involved in research works and always help the students when they are in trouble. Talking about placements our college is having training and placement officer Mr ST Ambadkar. He is a very energetic person. 4-5 company visit our college every year. One of most demanded one is Wipro which gives starting package of 4-5 lakh. This company mainly pick students from mechanical and computer science and engineering. Cut off varies every year. The candidate should complete 3 stages firstly aptitude test, next with group discussion and finally personal interview. Each candidate should pass each test to quality for next stage. As only 4-5 company visit every year our college has started a program in which student has to make company profile which contains maximum information about a company and he has to go through it before facing an interview in open campus. Our college has started programs for improving communication skills under the guidance of Titans who train us for interview and GDs every year this is done for the first year and final year. Some of our alumni who are now in good companies were visited last year and shared their experience and advice us how to prepare for jobs etc. Every student must have to do an internship as it is part of curriculum activity. Mainly students do their training in CSTPS, ST Workshop, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan.
Infrastructure: The college is having campus Wi-Fi. The registered students only can utilise this service. LAN slots are available so that they can connect their laptops with LAN cables. Canteen is available in college which provides snacks and cold drinks and some times lunch also. It available from 7 am to 6:30 pm. The hostel is available for students but students with good grades are allowed there. For that, we have to fill up form etc. Approximately 2000 per year is hostel fees. The mess is not available in hostel students to have to either go outside for food or dabbawala comes at the hostel. Water us 24 hours available same as electricity. The campus is having more trees. There is one football ground two volleyball ground and one kho kho and kabaddi ground. Every Department has its separate building. Except for civil and ENTC branch as they are merged in the administrative building. The college is having one Auditorium for cultural programs which is provided with AC. Classrooms are big nearly 100 students can sit easily with comfort. Fans are provided in every classroom. The workshop is available in college in which smity carpentry, welding, lathe operation are done. Every practical is having its own lab. Every Department has its own computer lab with net connected. The library is available from 10 am to 6 pm. Students have to issue books and they have to take to there home. Students are provided BT card. Any illegal action in library results in cancellation of BT Card. Now tables are available for readers. Bathrooms are well cleaned every two days it is cleaned.
Faculty: 30 permanent faculty members are available who are MTech holders. Rest are on a temporary basis. Lectures are taken regularly. Minimum 75 % attendance is compulsory. Otherwise, he is disqualified. Exams are taken two times before every semester. These are six courses available in college apart from that workshops are taken on robotICS etc. Students are taught design software, computer languages etc every year. Teachers provide us study material. Takes more practise on numerical but sometimes they fail to complete the course. If possible, they take us for a field trip.
Other: As it is a government college, the faculty members here are highly qualified but we have to use them. The sports field is somewhat dull in our college but we are back to back winners of football. It is affiliated to Gondwana Digital University Gadchiroli. Locality outside the college is not good. Shops are available outside the college.

Other: If your family income is not much, then you should definitely go for this college. This is because it is a government college, and the importance that comes with it. The college fee is rupees 25 thousand for open category. The college provides many facilities like ATM, Smart Card (through which you can pay all the canteen and library bills), campus Wi-Fi, hostel facilities etc. However, if you choose this college, then you will have to study on your own. Maximum lecturers never complete the syllabus. Except this, the college is great.
