Needs improvement in infrastructure at GECK.
Placements: About 90% of students in our batch get placement in different companies. But some of them only get good packages, and the majority of students get low packages. The top recruiting company is Larsen and Toubro. About 25% of students get opportunities in good companies, while others are offered very low packages.
Infrastructure: A well-facilitated campus is provided with a large library, labs, and good academic support. But physically, the college is limited because it is situated in the center of Kozhikode city. Therefore, less space is allotted, and we do not have proper facilities like a playground or a college basketball court.
Faculty: Faculty is always supportive in helping students improve from laziness to extraordinary performance. My favorite teacher, Mr. Tennison K. Jose, is always available for doubts in thermal engineering. The syllabus is tough and wide, so we need to study topics from each module carefully.
Other: I chose this course because I love studying mechanical things like engines, gears, and designing using CAD. The college union organizes events. The last major event held was Lakshya 2024.

Government Engineering College.
Placements: Many companies come to hire, and many students get placed in good companies, about 40 percent got placed. Almost all students went for internships in good companies, and many went for higher studies or to seek jobs abroad. FACT, KMML, and other companies hire every year.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided are very good. We’ve got good lab facilities, classrooms, and libraries, etc. However, we don’t have a men’s hostel, and space for extracurricular activities is limited. But we’ve got many hostels nearby within walking distance from the college at affordable prices and with good facilities.
Faculty: We have well-qualified faculty with M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees in their respective fields. They are good at teaching and also maintain a good relationship with the students. The curriculum is updated every 4 years and equips us with the skills to exceed expectations in our workplace.
