Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GEC Kozhikode) is one of the premier engineering colleges
Placements: My college is a Government Engineering College, Kozhikode. I am currently studying in the 3rd semester, 2nd year. My college has above-average placement records. The highest salary package is about 10 LPA, the lowest is about 5 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA. Top recruiters are Dell, Wipro, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: College has good infrastructure, but it is not an excellent college that provides all basic facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, canteens, etc., and also clubs like IEEE and NSS. The college only provides a hostel for girls. There is no boys' hostel. The college is overall good, but the size is very small compared to other engineering colleges. The college is located in an urban area.
Faculty: The faculty in the college is highly qualified and has strong experience in the teaching field, even temporary staff and lab assistants know everything. The curriculum is slightly tough, but it can be easily studied by interested students. The pass percentage of the college needs to be improved, but currently it is decent.
Other: I chose this course out of interest in electricity and electronics. It helps a lot to get enough theoretical knowledge. The curriculum needs to be slightly improved. There are many fests conducted in the college by the students' union, tech fests, and cultural fests are conducted, like Shristi and Lakshya.

Important facts about GECK.
Placements: Many students opted for campus placement. Most of them got placed. The highest package was 6.5 LPA. The average package was 4 LPA. Many went for higher studies in other colleges under Kerala Technical University, Kerala University, NITs, and IITs.
Infrastructure: A good government hostel facility is available for girls. But no government hostel facility for boys. Usually, boys stay as paying guests or in some other private hostels. Well-equipped labs are available. The college lacks a playground of its own. We use the same playground as the nearest Polytechnic college.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are friendly. They do lack support in extracurricular activities. All of them are well qualified. Some of them even have PhDs from IITs and NITs. Internal exams are conducted twice every semester. Sem exams are a bit tough, but they can be easily passed.
Other: The campus is a bit small, about 4 acres.

Review of Government Engineering College, Kozhikode.
Placements: Based on the previous year's placement history, almost all pass-out students got placed in 1 or 2 companies in the campus interview. L&T visits Government Engineering College, Kozhikode for interviews. The criteria for L&T are no supply history and CGPA greater than 9.5. Placements at GEC Kozhikode are excellent.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is just above average because the college is in a small area. The lab facility is just okay because 2 or 3 labs are in the same room. The college has only a girls' hostel. It is not inside the campus. It is within walking distance. The college does not have a boys' hostel. Boys stay in private PGs and hostels nearby.
Faculty: Here, the faculty is very friendly and helpful. They support anything that is related to the curriculum. In a semester, 2 internal exams are held. We have internal marks. We have a one-semester exam connected by the university. For internal marks, we have to score 50. Attendance is for 10, assignment for 15, and internal exams for 25. We have to submit 2 assignments for each subject each semester. We should maintain 75% attendance for writing a semester exam.
Other: In GEC Kozhikode, there are 6 batches like applied electronics and instrumentation, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, computer science and design engineering, and electronics and communication engineering. Applied electronics offers high placement opportunities but it slightly stuff to pass.

Life at Government Engineering College Kozhikode.
Placements: The placements at our college are not the highest, but one can say they are decent. Students of my college start preparing for placement from the seventh semester onwards. The highest package a student got last year was around 10 Lacs per annum. The average package at our college is around 4 Lacs. Around 40% of our students got placed last year. The top recruiting companies are TCS and L&T.
Infrastructure: Our college is a bit congested, but the infrastructure is really good. We have a really big library with lots of books, which are easily available for students. The lab facilities are great too. We have all kinds of equipment in our labs. Our college does not have a hostel, so everyone is mostly living in PGs right now. Some of them have rented a house with 15-20 people. The rent for my PG is around 5500.
Faculty: All the faculty in our college are really nice and professional. They are really good at teaching and they are really supportive towards students who face difficulty while studying. This course in particular is very relevant to the curriculum. The real-life application of this course and its subjects is really important. The semester exams conducted by our university are infamous for being really difficult. Students are always worried about the paper, as most of the time, it's really hard.
Other: Life at our college is really nice and healthy. I really like this course because of my interest in electronic gadgets. The campus is really good, but I wish the college campus were bigger and more spread out. Also, the college has a very small football ground. Our college organizes regular fests and cultural events. Some fests are organized by organizations like IEEE. The college also organizes regular sports events like football, kabaddi, etc.

Great college and good facilities
Placements: The college offers decent on-campus placement opportunities, with a minimum of 40% of students getting placed each year. The highest package is 6.5 LPA. Our college has a dedicated team for placement assistance, and companies start coming in from the 7th semester onwards, with most being from the IT sector.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over less than 10 acres, but we have all the necessary facilities on campus. There are good classrooms, well-equipped labs with excellent staff, Wi-Fi in the computer labs, sports facilities, and a canteen that is affordable and offers good food.
Faculty: All the faculty have extensive teaching experience and are very supportive. The college is affiliated with KTU. However, the semester exams and evaluations are poor, with no fixed academic calendar and limited vacation time. The Applied Electronics and Instrumentation course is also not common.
Other: My college has two main events: Lakshya, a tech fest, and Drishya, a cultural festival. Many other events are also organized.

One of the best colleges.
Placements: Placement chances are high for the students who have good knowledge of coding. They should have minimum aptitude skills. I think for the electronics branch, the highest package offered will be between 7-8LPA. The lowest should be between 2-2.5 LPA. Top roles offered in this course will be mostly related to IT field. Also instrumentation jobs are there.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi facility with good speed. Labs are well maintained. There are 2 libraries here, i.e. main library and department library. Hostel is small with the best food and other services. Mess is clean and spacious.
Faculty: During exams, teaches are really helpful. They give us notes, extra PDFs and all the other support. Qualified teachers are there. They teach us well and they are knowledgeable. Applied electronics and instrumentation course has much scope abroad. So it's not that bad.
