College infrastructure is poor. Placements are good, except for CSE students.
Placements: Our college in CSE has no placements, but placements in other branches are good. Government Polytechnic Dhanbad provides high placement opportunities for the Metallurgy branch, followed by Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil branches. Computer Science Engineering students, however, do not get any opportunities.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is poor, and there hasn't been much improvement in the college to make it a top college or the number one diploma college in Jharkhand.
Faculty: Faculty members are not good, and number of faculty members is very low, which limits the ability of teachers to provide the best teaching experience to students. Jharkhand government does not focus on this issue. There are labs in the college, but we do not get the opportunity to learn from them. Despite this, the faculty is nice.

A college with very impressive placements and very good facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: Around 50-60% of students got placed among every faculty member, and every student has the opportunity to participate in an internship program. The highest salary package offered is around 8 LPA - 12 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Tata and Infosys visit the college. The role offered in our course is a software engineer.
Infrastructure: Every faculty member and course has a lab like a physics lab, a chemistry lab, etc. There are workshop facilities for every student who needs them for their courses. There is a ground in the hostel where students can play many games like cricket, etc. We have a dedicated badminton court.
Faculty: Every teacher is helpful, highly educated, and experienced. They help students. This course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exams are not very difficult. The pass percentage is not high. Students only need 33% to pass any exam.
Other: I chose this course because it has a better future. It could be better.

Placements: Government Polytechnic Dhanbad is ranked 2nd in terms of placements. It places 75% of students from the metallurgy, electrical, and mechanical branches, except for CS and Civil. The salary package offered is 1.8 LPA. CEAT Tyres, TATA Steel, and Hindalco are a few of the companies that hire students from our college.
Infrastructure: The college building, hostel, and workshop, overall infrastructure of the college is average. College has two hostel buildings currently, Hostel No. 4 and Hostel No. 5, and the mess is inside the hostel. The food quality of the mess is average. There is also playground in our college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and nice. They are also highly qualified and well-experienced. Our college makes students industry-ready by organising seminars, group discussions, and science-based events. Our external exams are conducted semester-wise.
Other: I chose Computer Science and Engineering branch because I am curious to learn about website and app development.

It is a good engineering college in all aspects.
Placements: I am in the 5th semester, and no companies have come to our college till now, but in the future or the next month, I heard that two big companies are going to visit our college which includes TCS and Infosys. I am sure that these companies select around 10-12 students out of 30. Placements are good in our college. Our teachers are good.
Infrastructure: All are good. Our college is regularly improving. All the things that a student needs for his study are available in the hostel. There is a water cooler and a library. Some defects are also available such as there is no night warden. There are security issues and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach students more than enough But we need some improvement in teaching quality. Our course makes students industry-ready but for small companies which allow diploma students. Semester exams are not very tough. They are easy to pass if students study on a regular basis. The passing percentage is above 80%.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computer science and engineering. Some improvements are needed in placement guidance, organisation events, tech fests, extracurricular activities, etc.

GP Dhanbad is known for its placement rate except for the CS branch. Education quality is good.
Placements: There are no placements for the CS branch, but all other branches like metallurgy, electrical, and mechanical have a better salary package of around 15k-20k per month. Around 75% of students of all the 3 branches are placed per year. Recruiting companies are L&T, Tata, Ceat Tyres, and Hindalco.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is average. There is a college building, a workshop, and two hostel buildings that are in use right now. Although, rest of the buildings have been abandoned after the lockdown. A new principal has been appointed to our college this year. He has been working in order to improve infrastructure and other facilities.
Faculty: Our college has been known for providing better education quality and facilities like daily classes, practical labs, assignments, and projects which are taken regularly. Events related to science and curricular events are conducted from time to time. External exams are conducted semester wise.
Other: I chose Computer Science and Engineering because I’m more interested in learning about website and app development. Since CS has always been associated with technology, it keeps students updated about new technologies. Teachers are helpful providing the information about technology. Everything is good in our college such as exams, campus crowd, and extracurricular activities. The biggest problem is fewer placements for CS but hope it will be improved in the future.
