It is an average government college with slightly better placements.
Placements: Overall, the placements are slightly better than any other government institute in Jharkhand, except for Adityapur. Some prominent companies related to mining and metallurgy, like JSW Steel, Jindal Steel and Power, and TATA Steel, came here during my 5th-semester. Out of 70 students, 27 (38%) were selected after a brief interview and aptitude test. The highest salary package offered was 3.24 LPA by Jindal Steel and Power, and the lowest salary package was around 1.8 LPA. The average salary package was around 2.24 LPA. The roles mostly offered were junior technician, junior engineer, etc. The college won't help you with internships. You have to look out for companies during the start of your 5th semester as there is a mandatory obligation of a 1-month industrial internship or training for students who go to their 5th semester.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are not in good condition. Classrooms are big and well-illuminated. Wi-Fi is available but not for the students, only for the college administration. There are smart boards and projectors, but they are not in working condition. A library is available, but it is barely open. Sports and games are not even in the routine. Hostel facilities are not available for every student, but for SC and ST students. The hostel infrastructure is quite good, with 24x7 water and electricity supply. Mess charges are nominal, varying from Rs. 2500 to Rs.3000 per month. The variety of food is only on the menu, but the taste is better than in other government colleges.
Faculty: Most of the lectures are conducted by PTL (part-time lecturers). The college administration is very rude and stubborn, but the teachers are cooperative and qualified enough. Self-study is important here. The course curriculum is a bit outdated, but some of the important subjects are still relevant to the industry. You have to keep improving yourself with the latest trends. Semester exams are tough. There are 5 theory subjects (500 marks) and 3 practical subjects (150 marks) and 2 sessional subjects (100+50 marks). Out of 800, one has to score a minimum of 335 in order to pass. Theory papers are for 100 (80+20) marks. The written paper is of 80 numbers, and the passing marks are 26 per paper. Out of 8 questions, one has to answer only 5. Practical exams and viva are easy as they are conducted in the parent institute.
Other: I opted for this course because the placements are slightly better than in other courses. You get to know many new things about products that you use in your daily life. A less arrogant behaviour of the college administration could have made the college a better place for new students. Events are rarely organised, and some of them are Engineers' Day, Fresher's party, etc. Scholarships are available for SC and ST students through E-Kalyan portal, which are around Rs.7,000 to Rs.8,000 per year. I will recommend this college to anyone because of its minimal fee, which is around Rs. 2,805 per year for general-category students. Considering the fee, it is satisfying. I would advise new students not to expect too much from the college.

Joyful, Knowledgeable, creative and helpful.
Placements: The placement of this college very good. Approximately 80% of the students get placed in reputed company every year. The highest package goes upto 14 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 lakh per year. Companies like CIL, ECL, CCL, etc. come for recruitment. About 95% students got internship in ECL and CCL. Top role offered is of researcher.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There are about 40 to 50 students in my course. There are many other facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, hostel and canteen. All the above facilities are very good and food in the canteen is good. Sports and games like cricket, football, basketball, etc. are available here.
Faculty: Teachers of this college are very helpful and friendly. They are open minded in teaching. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching ability is elegant. There are regular internal and semester exams, according to JUT. Exams are average. They are neither difficult nor easy according to my opinion. Minimum 33% marks are required to pass in the exams. The course curriculum makes the students industry ready.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to research and work with steel and coal. The course is very good. Events and fest are held regularly in the college.
