Supportive faculty, strong infrastructure with decent placements, but branch-wise variation.
Placements: GKCEM demonstrates a respectable placement performance with 80-85% of students placed annually. Average packages between 4.5 LPA to 5.7 LPA, and top packages crossing 10 LPA. Placement is success. However, it may vary notably by department. CSE often sees strong recruiters, while some branches and diploma programs exhibit their own strengths.
Infrastructure: GKCEM scores high on infrastructure. From modern academic facilities like labs, workshops, classrooms, and library to well-maintained hostel accommodation with security and essential amenities. College offers a supportive and comfortable environment for both academics and campus life.
Faculty: GKCEM stands out for its supportive and knowledgeable faculty members, widely appreciated by students. The curriculum, while rounded in MAKAUT standards, is generally seen as relevant and practical. Though a few students feel that updating or trimming non-essential subjects could boost effectiveness. Examination patterns are fair overall, but consistency can vary depending on the semester or department.

Faculty members are skilled and supportive.
Placements: I am currently pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Batch 2022-2026) from Greater Kolkata College of Engineering and Management. In our course, around 70-80% of students are placed. Approximately 60-70% of students also secured internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is quite good and well-maintained. The Computer Science department has decent lab facilities with updated systems and reliable Wi-Fi access across the campus. Classrooms are spacious, and the library has a good collection of technical and academic books. The college also provides space for sports and games, including a playground and an indoor sports area.
Faculty: Faculty in our Computer Science department is excellent, highly qualified, supportive, and knowledgeable. Most of the teachers are approachable and genuinely invested in helping students understand concepts thoroughly. The teaching quality is very good, with many professors using practical examples and project-based learning. The course curriculum is well-structured and covers core Computer Science subjects, making it quite relevant and helpful for industry readiness, especially when combined with self-learning. Semester exams are moderately difficult, neither too easy nor overly tough, and the pass percentage is quite high, with most students clearing their exams successfully if they stay consistent with their studies.

Good college with affordable fee, helpful faculty members, and decent placements.
Placements: Around 75-80% of students in our course got placed, with a decent mixture of core and non-core companies. The highest package offered is around 10 LPA, while the average stood at approximately 4.5 LPA. Some top recruiters included Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Capgemini. A good number of students also received internships, especially during the third year, from companies like Deloitte and Cognizant. The common roles offered are software developer and technical support engineer. The placement cell is supportive and organized regular training sessions and mock interviews.
Infrastructure: College has good infrastructure, especially in terms of labs and Wi-Fi connectivity. Classrooms are well-ventilated and equipped with projectors, though some could use better maintenance. Library has a wide range of academic books and materials. The hostel is fairly decent with clean rooms and regular.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. They explain the topics clearly and are always ready to support students. The course curriculum is updated and relevant to current industry needs. Semester exams are manageable with regular study. Overall, pass percentage is good.

Top recruiters included TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc. About 40-50% of students got internships in companies like TCS iON, Internshala partners, and some startups. Top roles offered are software developer, web developer, system engineer, and support executive.
Infrastructure: Our department has good classrooms with projectors and Wi-Fi. Labs are well-equipped for practical. Library has many useful books and a quiet study space. Hostel facilities are decent. Rooms are clean, and water and electricity are available most of the time. The mess food is okay, sometimes tasty. The canteen has some good snacks. Basic medical help is available on the campus. We also have a playground for sports like cricket and football, and some indoor games too.

Semester exams are moderate, not too hard if you study regularly. The pass percentage is quite good.
Other: We are the 2022-2025 batch of B.Tech in computer science and engineering at GKCEM. We chose this course because we are interested in technology, coding, and wanted a career in the IT field. The best part of our course is learning programming, projects, and support from teachers. We wish there were more industry visits, workshops, and updated labs. Our college organizes tech fests, cultural events, and sports competitions every year. The campus crowd is friendly and helpful.
