Yes, JIS College of Engineering accepts Joint Entrance Examination for Bachelor of Technology admission. In addition to Joint Entrance Examination, students can also qualify for admission with a valid score in WB-JEE or CEE AMPAI exams. To be eligible for admission, students must secure 45 percent in 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The merit list is prepared by MAKAUT for admission to the Bachelor of Technology program.

Admission to a majority of courses offered by JIS College of Engineering is entrance-based. Apart from JEE Main, GATE and MAT, candidates can also appear for WBJEE, JEMAT, WBUT PGET and CEE AMPAI for admission to UG and PG courses offered by JISCE.

JET (JIS University Entrance Exam): Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised Central or State Board or its equivalent with minimum 50%* marks. Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT) qualified candidates can directly apply for GD/PI.

Yes, JIS University follows a merit-based admission process for most of its courses, and direct admission is generally not offered. However, there are certain courses and programs where direct admission may be possible.

The total intake of JIS College of Engineering for MBA is of 60 students. These seats are allocated to eligible applicants based on their performance in the accepted entrance exams, GD, PI, past academic record and work experience. In JISCE every course is best in their domain but as far as the innovation, research and holistic studies are concerned ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) is the best engineering course. CSE and CST are also equally best as the demand is very high for these course.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.

Admission to postgraduate admission is done based on merit in GATE/ PGET/ AMPAI-W /WB-JE MAT. Yes, JIS College of Engineering offers a full-time Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme in various specialisations/streams. The duration of the UG-level course is four years. Some BTech specialisations available at the college include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
