Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.Hons.) - Batch of 2024

It is a decent college with lots of exposure and friendly crowd.
Placements: Nearly 30% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered was 3 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package was 1 Lac per annum. Top recruiting companies are Infosys and Wipro. Almost all the students got internships in our class.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent. The worst thing is the college hostel, as it is very poor to stay. I don't recommend anyone to stay here. The college has a canteen and good classrooms.
Faculty: All the faculty members have pursued a doctorate in various fields and are highly experienced. Their teaching has a great impact on our life. I don't recommend opting for an undergraduate degree, that is irrelevant. The semester exams are very easy, and the pass percentage is 99%.

Review of Guru Nanak College.
Placements: The minimum percentage is above 75% in cut-off, and the top recruiting companies are Accenture and Metrique. All students should complete internships for a minimum of 14 weeks i.e 3 months. As students are new to the job experience, they did not know anything about the job except the internship they provide. The average salary offered is Rs 15,000 per month
Faculty: Convert students as real time professionals in the areas of finance, accounting, and taxation. Prepare students to face the challenges in the current job market. The teaching is more responsible jobs, and our teachers are doing it very efficiently. They make learning easy by explaining it clearly and in detail. They also make projector presentations and allow students to make them learn quickly and easily.
Other: It is the best course among B.com so I opted for this course. It contains extra one main subject as compared to B. Com general and wish honors will get good reputation in future.

Other: B. Com honors course is available only in some colleges under the University of Madras. Gurunanak college is one of them. This course was introduced in 2013 in the college. The average salary for placements is higher than other B.Com courses. Infrastructure-wise the campus is average. It's not too good or bad. A new building is going to be built and we should assume that the new building will be built in some years. The faculty members are good. A person who focuses only upon studies can have this course at this college because the fee structure is also not too high compared to other colleges. Apart from all this. Gurunanak college is famous for its cricket ground so students who are cricketers can join this college.

It is a very good college to enjoy and study.
Placements: Our college provided very good placements with good salary packages. Students of our course got placed easily. Around 30 students out of 40 got placed in well-reputed companies and the other 10 students are pursuing professional courses like CA, CMA, and CS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was very good with green trees. It had peaceful environment and friendly atmosphere. Classrooms were well furnished with smart boards. There was a very big library in the center of our college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very good and well-qualified. They motivated students apart from their studies.
Other: I chose this course to pursue MBA. It provides a wide range of opportunities. Many cultural festivals were organised in our college. Stalls and investing centers are run by the students to improve their business intellect.

It is an average college, and I would rate it as 6.5 out of 10.
Placements: Placements are very less, and only a few companies come to hire. The total campus recruitment is about 30%. E&Y, Capgemini and HCL came to hire but on a limited basis. Roles like the recruiting process and junior accountant are offered. The minimum salary package offered is 1 LPA, and the maximum salary package offered is 4.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The library is small, with a limited number of books. The hostel is very poor, and the hospitality is also not good. The environment is good because of full greenery. Canteen is also small, but it is maintained very well. Wi-Fi is available, but you can't use it as it has poor connectivity. The only good thing is sports as you have a great opportunity, and many good players came out and built their career.
Faculty: Few staff members possess great experience while others just manage. The syllabus is based on Madras University, which is autonomous. They don't give training to students, so they are not ready for industry. Students mostly have to study on their own.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is the best among all the other courses in this college. Quality is maintained in that particular branch. Staff members are trained since it is newly started.

My personal experiences in GNC.
Placements: None of us had an idea of joining a job. 95% of my batch had the idea of post-graduation or higher studies or professional studies. Some of us sat for it, and I got placed. Selective 2-3 are good and legit companies. But most of the other companies were here for BPO.
Infrastructure: All those in campus facilities are not bad. Had a good experience with all those. Hostel, I'm not sure. Heard the college hostel is bad. Club presence and the importance given to joining those clubs and inter-college or intra-college events are all very nice. But you won't have fests like other colleges. This college actually has an assembly every Monday.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are good, but some of them are not so good. But I'm sure you will have that one teacher with whom you can share anything and everything. He/she will treat you like a friend. Every department has at least one staff member like this. I had some good friendships with even staff from other departments who were not related to me, but they are very friendly.
Other: To be frank, I didn't see any drawbacks from the faculty/infrastructure/campus life. But the ultimate goal for a degree is placement. This college lacks a lot in the placement committee. That's the only problem we saw. If the college incurs some expenses on the placement committee or hires someone from outside, it will be good. I forgot to mention that the college places importance on club presence, sports and all those extension activities are really so good.

Good enough if you want to pursue a professional course along with a fun college life.
Placements: Only a very few students got placed. Even if someone gets placed, there is no proper communication from the company regarding the job offer. The highest package received was 3 LPA. Top recruiters vary every year but usually include Sutherland, Accenture, and Muthoot Finance. The internship letter is provided by the college, but we have to look for internships on our own.
Infrastructure: Most classes are equipped with projectors. Classrooms look decent. The infrastructure appears appealing. Recently, the management has been taking steps to provide more facilities that benefit students and faculty members. The computer labs, auditoriums, and other labs are up to a certain standard, but not the best. As a day scholar, I am not aware of the hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers have good qualifications, but their teaching styles vary. Some teachers teach extraordinarily well, some at a mediocre level, and some are not up to the expected level. The curriculum is good, but not very relevant to the industry. Some good teachers try to educate students with skills needed beyond the syllabus and relevant to industry standards, but getting a good teacher depends on luck.
Other: Academically, the college doesn't provide much, but if cultural and sports activities are your area of interest, you will enjoy the college.
