Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2026
4.0
Faculty members of science and humanities - B.Com at SRM.
Placements: In my course B.Com, almost 80% of students are getting placed every year. Students who are interested in banking jobs are highly likely to get a job as most of the companies that visit are banking institutions. Right after finishing B.Com, the highest package will be 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Internships are not exactly provided by the placement office in our college. Students have to search for internships on their own and the college will just approve it. Top roles offered in B.Com are analyst, accountant, sales analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: Compared to the infrastructure of the engineering departments, the classrooms of B.Com are average. Free Wi-Fi is available to all the students. Central library at SRM is the biggest asset of the college. Any student, faculty member, or research scholar can have access to the books present in the library. It is huge and massive and has books of all genres and related courses. The food in the canteens is top-notch. There are so many varieties of foods available for students of all sorts of ethnicity and the population is diverse.
Faculty: Faculty members of SRM, department of commerce are highly qualified and are really good at their stuff. The course curriculum is relevant but it is more theoretical than practical. The university conducts 4 exams per semester, that is, 2 CTs, (cycle tests) these are considered to be easy, then the modal examination, and then final. Semester examination difficulty level is moderate.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in pursuing a career in the finance field. B.Com helps to educate us with accounting, business, auditing, and marketing which act as the key components of finance. It would be great if my university could focus more on practical sessions for B.Com rather than taking it extremely theoretical.

Overall, an above average college.
Placements: For B.Com. students, there will be an average package of 2 to 3 lacs p.a. For that, they have to secure more than 60% in classes 10 and 12. They also have to secure a CGPA of 7 or above. You will be placed in BPO and other sectors, some of which will not relate to your course.
Infrastructure: You will have a Wi-Fi classroom and the canteen will be near your block. There will be a free hospital and medical services on campus. There will be many programs, festivals, and cultural events at the college. There is also a dual-degree option, like BBA and B.Com. together.
Faculty: The faculty's teaching will be average. You can easily score good marks in the semester. You can choose many special course like accounting and finance, professional accounting, information system management, etc. The semester exam will not be that difficult; it will be average.
Other: Overall, you will enjoy your college life and you will be able to network with many people.

It is an excellent college and I recommend you join it.
Placements: At our college, almost all students are placed. Most of them come through some sort of scholarship, which helps students study better. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Infosys, Amazon, etc., visit our campus.
Infrastructure: Our college facilities are excellent. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Students can connect to the internet at any time. I chose PG because the security in a hostel is very strict. The campus is surrounded by many shops where you can get good food and stationery at reasonable prices.
Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified. They have great knowledge, and you can easily understand the topic if you listen to the class. The course curriculum is very relevant, as they provide it at the beginning of the course. They prepare for placements and assist students in preparing for interviews.

It is a great college in India.
Placements: Most students were placed on campus placement held in our college. They work in greater MNCs all over India and now, started earning good salary packages. Some started pursuing either PG simultaneously by working or given promotions in their works.
Infrastructure: Our college had the best infrastructure in India and it was a world-class top deemed to be university in Chennai's outer area. It was a highly qualified college with all branches on a single campus with enough hotels and canteens inside itself. There were air-conditioned classrooms to listen to the lectures.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college were very good. The parts of your curriculum were developed and equal importance was given to all other talents like studies, conducting programs like cultural competitions both indoor and outdoor every academic year to develop students' participation.

B.Com in SRM institute of Science and technology.
Placements: I don't know about placements right now. But I heard that placements was good when I enquired senior students. I believe that placements are better than I expected. I heard that l&t, E&y, Deloitte these are the companies that came has last year placements.
Infrastructure: Course wise teachers are doing a great job. All teachers taught us very good knowledge and subject wise also very well. But classrooms are the worst. I am in Polytechnic building classrooms are not neat can't able to sit in the class. We didn't have Wi-Fi. Canteen was good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Absolutely they are well qualified. They taught us very well about the subjects. Course curriculum also good. And teachers are very friendly and they help for us to manage the goal they literally give examples for every topic.
Other: Culturals are awesome.

This college is the best part of Chennai. It has 80% of the crowd is from outside Chennai.
Placements: The highest package offered was around 4 Lacs per annum. Companies like RR Donnelly, L&T, TCS, GODREJ, INDIGO, CITY UNION BANK LTD, ICICI, MR COOPER, GS came for internship gave PPO also. Mostly graphic design, analyst, associates and senior associate position were offered.
Infrastructure: I loved my hostel Life of three years. They are the best time I had till date. Full privacy is given, getting night pass is not difficult you just have to get permanent Letter for semester from your parents mentioning local guardian and take copies after warden signature go out and submit one copy with date.
Faculty: I faced little language problem. Because I did not understand Tamil. Although all the professors are really cooperative and are ready to resolve your issue any time. They let you move on your pace. They do not hurry but complete course before time and give time to revise.

Review of SRMIST - SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
Placements: Our college has 100% placements record. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. Banks are major recruiters, especially the City Union Bank. The top role offered to the students is an assistant manager in the bank. Placements were mostly available for BPO, but it was a choice since they allow you to sit for another company if the students are selected in a BPO.
Infrastructure: Quality of the facilities was good, but it was a bit costly. Hostel rooms were clean and huge, and even washrooms were perfect. Food was a little below-average, and it is not perfect for people eating regularly. It forces students to buy food from outside rather than the mess.
Faculty: Everything in the course is relevant and perfectly taught. Teachers taught in the English language and not in other languages. All doubts and queries were solved immediately, and there will be full support from the management. Extracurricular activities were conducted here, and students were encouraged.
Other: I was interested in accounting, so I have chosen this course, and I won't regret doing that.

Literally satisfied because of good placement.
Placements: Minimum is 10% of students placed in my course. The highest salary offered is 30k, the lowest is 18k and average salary is 20 to 25k. No idea about top roles. Top recruitment companies are tcs and Accenture. The highest package is 30k, the lowest 15k and average of 25k was offered to our course. 15% of students got internship in TCS Accenture.
Infrastructure: A very good infrastructure and good class room. beautiful library, Wi-Fi everywhere in the campus. beautiful infrastructure, labs are awesome. No. 1 in sports and games. Canteen is good. Food is amazing. Hostel is full of Wi-Fi and hostel wardens are friendly and also caring.
Faculty: The teaching is excellent . Faculty are friendly. The way of teaching is also good. The course curriculum is relevant and yes it make students industry ready. Teachers are so helpful.
Other: Because of infrastructure I opted this university. Scholarship is available.

I don't think this type of facility will be available as the course time varies according to your batch and slot. The workload will be immense too.

no there is no such thing. If you studied first year in some another college then you can't join second year in other college in B.Sc. you have to restart your degree. There is no such thing. Good luck.

Yes, you can do it. If you get admission in B.Com honours and opt for economics as your optional subject for 4 semesters consecutively then you get a minor degree in economics as well which will help you in doing Master's degree in the same afterwards.
