The admissions at HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) is based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam. The IMU CET entrance exam is conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode annually. Depending upon the performance of the candidate, it allows the students to take admission in the all 6 campuses of IMU (Indian Maritime University).
Yes, HIMT Chennai does offer a BSc course for the duration of three years. The campus only offers one specialisation in the BSc course, i.e., Nautical Science. Further, the course is divided into six semesters and offered in full-time mode. To get admission into this course, candidates must complete the basic eligibility requirement and secure valid scores in the entrance exam.
IMU CET 2026 admit card is expected to be released in May 2026. The admission authority releases the IMU CET admit card online for eligible candidates. Candidates can download the IMU CET admit card by using their login credentials. Details regarding the exam date, timings, venue, guidelines, and more are released through the admit card of IMU CET. While reporting to the exam center, the candidates are required to present their admit card and proof of identity.

The eligibility requirements and admission process of both IMU Kolkata and HIMT Chennai are almost the same.
