IEM Kolkata Admission 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Selection, Fees, Application Process

The MBA eligibility requires candidates to have completed their graduation in any field  (Science, Commerce,  Arts) with an aggregate of 50% or more. Students can also check the list of reasons below to pursue MBA course from IEM Kolkata:

The institute offers BTech, BBA, MCA, MBA, MBA (general), etc. courses at the UG and PG level. The basic eligibility criteria for admission are to complete Class 12 and graduation as per the course requirements. Students are selected based on merit/entrance-exam scores as per course requirement. 

Institute of Engineering and Management BTech admission process will need following documents from candidates:

No, IEMJEE is not a mandatory entrance exam for BTech admissions at Institute of Engineering and Management. Candidates can also appear for WBJEE or JEE Mains to qualify for BTech courses.

While filling out WBJEE application form, candidates need to pay fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted by authorities. Eligibility criteria for MAKAUT CET: For UG courses: Students applying for MAKAUT CET for any graduate courses must have qualified Class 10+2. Students who have been waiting for the Class 12 final results are also eligible to apply for the exam. Based on the course selected by the students, they might have to take a special prerequisite bridge course as decided by the colleges. For PG courses: students applying for MAKAUT CET for any postgraduate courses must have completed an honors course or should have earned a degree that has a minimum of 140 credit points in relevant subjects. IEM Kolkata does not offer any scholarships from its side to MBA students. However, central and West Bengal government offer scholarship schemes to help candidates their college course fees. 

However, if candidates fail to secure any of these scholarships, their final option includes applying for student loans.

No, candidates are not required to have any work experience prior to MBA admissions at IEM Kolkata. 

Thus, candidates can apply directly for MBA courses at IEM Kolkata after they clear their UG level graduation. A valid score in any one of the accepted entrance exams will be required to apply for this course.

No mention of any rules has been made by IEM Kolkata for MBA admissions to candidates who have not yet received their final year's scores.

Yes, candidates can apply for lateral entry into the BTech courses offered by Institute of Engineering and Management. Lateral entry for BTech courses will be based on the same IEMJEE as well as following counselling round. Currently, eligibility criteria for lateral entry BTech admissions is unknown.

No, unlike some of its other coursese such as BTech or MTech, IEM Kolkata does not conduct any in house entrance exams for MBA admissions. Selection is done purely based on scores obtained in either CAT, MAT or XAT, all of which are national level entrance exams.
