Institute of Engineering and Management BTech Highlights 2026
Institute of Engineering and Management BTech course is a four-year UG level course that is available in full-time mode only. Candidates can choose from five specialisations of BTech at Institute of Engineering and Management including BTech in CSE, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
A few more updates are as follows:
- BTech in CSE is offered in several sub specialisations such as AI and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Internet of Things and BCT.
- To apply for Institute of Engineering and Management BTech admission, candidates need to Class 12 board exams from a recognised board. Minimum aggregate will vary based on chosen specialisation between 60% - 75% in Class 10th and Class 12. If a candidate has cleared Class 12 from PCM stream, minimum aggregate to be eligible for BTech admission will be lower than students of other streams. This limit can vary between 45% - 50%.
- Selection of candidates will be based on IEMJEE + counselling for all BTech courses.

IEM Kolkata accepts WBJEE entrance exam rank for admission to BTech program. According to the WBJEE cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for BTech program fell between the ranges of 398 to 92292. Among all the brances, BTech CSE was the most sought-after course specialisation. In 2022, the WBJEE rank went up to 3621 in the last round for the General AI category.

No, candidates cannot get direct admission in BTech courses offered by Institute of Engineering and Management. Candidates will need to appear for IEMJEE in order to qualify for BTech admissions. Selection will be done during the following counselling rounds.
No, PCM is not a mandatory stream to be eligible for BTech courses at Institute of Engineering and Management. However, candidates who pass from PCM stream will have a lower minimum aggregate requirement than students of other steams.

Institute of Engineering and Management BTech admission dates are directly inline with the IEMJEE as well as following counselling rounds. IEMJEE registration deadline differs for online and offline mode of the exam. Since online exam deadline is scheduled later, candidates can expect it to be the Institute of Engineering and Management BTech deadline.

STEP 2: Selection of Candidates
Once admission forms have been submitted, Institute of Engineering and Management will shortlist candidates for counselling rounds. This selection will be done based on IEMJEE result. During counselling rounds, candidates need to lock Institute of Engineering and Management as their preferred institute.
This will result in candidates getting a seat allotted in their preferred BTech course at this institute. After counselling rounds, candidates will be required to go to Institute of Engineering and Management's website for document verification process.
STEP 3: Confirmation of Admission
The final stage of Institute of Engineering and Management BTech admissions will require candidates to pay seat booking fees which ranges between INR 50,000 - INR 1,40,000.

No, unlike some of its other coursese such as BTech or MTech, IEM Kolkata does not conduct any in house entrance exams for MBA admissions. Selection is done purely based on scores obtained in either CAT, MAT or XAT, all of which are national level entrance exams.
