4.6
Overall, the college is good.
Placements: 100 percent of students got placed from my course. The highest package on campus is 12 LPA and the lowest is 5.4 LPA. The off-campus placement package is above 1 crore per annum. Recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, etc. 100 percent of students got internships in many different companies. Software developer, website management, app developer, etc., roles are offered.
Infrastructure: Labs of all types, in fact, a 3D printing lab and machines are also there. The labs of the computer, Physics, Chemistry, and everything are well-developed. Hostel facilities are also very good, as well as a well-developed canteen. Sports grounds and an indoor sports room are also available.
Faculty: All the teachers present there have a Ph.D. degree and many more qualifications for the subject they are teaching. They make the students ready for the industry. The semester exams are of mid-range, not very hard, not very easy. The pass percentage is 90 percent.

College is very good with strict discipline and its own principles.
Placements: Currently I am in 1st year of college but I have heard from seniors that more than 80 percent of their batchmates have got placement very few of them have refused and moved on to further studies. TCS is one of the top recruiting companies among all others.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, facilities, and infrastructure are very well-maintained. The food provided by the college is average all the food in the canteen is vegetarian. Medical facilities are very good and various sports events occur frequently.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and they prepare the students for industry not only for one field but also for all other departments. Exams are quite difficult and 50 percent is the passing mark for each subject. The quality of teaching is very good.

Mediocre Facility and Infrastructure.
Placements: Top recruiting companies would be Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, IBM, etc. No successful internships yet, 3% from our course have gotten into paid internships till now. Top internship companies are Wipro, Cognizant. Top roles would be graphic designer, etc.
Infrastructure: Library is pretty basic, 1st-year students are not allowed to borrow books and visit during classes. Classrooms in B.Tech have no air conditioning facilities. Wi-Fi is poor (only 1GB allowed per device), canteen food is okay, only meals are available, no snacks. As for campus, we have the main building and a basketball court. Café Coffee Day is available within the campus but is overpriced. Food available outside the campus in the street is more preferred.
Faculty: Teaching quality is mediocre. The course curriculum is relevant. There are courses like entrepreneurship and SDP-ESP which prepare students for the industry. Plus, there have been a few lectures by top industrialists in person. Semester exams have a moderate difficulty level, but there's barely enough time to prepare. No holidays are given. There are a total of 3 exams in a semester, along with practical exams. There are also tons of assignments and projects and hackathons given.

IEM Kolkata Review. Satisfied with faculty, placements, and facilities.
Placements: Placements for this session in 2024 are below average, considering the current job market situation. But I state that it actually gives good placements compared to other colleges that compete. This year, the overall placement rate may reflect the cautious hiring approach adopted by many companies.
Infrastructure: I'm a day scholar, so I can't verify this. But I have heard from my friends that it is not that bad. They are affordable and comfortable. Good value for the hostel feels like you pay. Good Wi-Fi connectivity on campus. This ensures students have seamless access to online resources and digital libraries.
Faculty: Decent faculty. Some pros are genuinely good and help with doubts, research, projects, and assignments. Exams are taken very often here, so you have to be on a roll all the time. Some are very invested in the success and learning of the students, focusing on areas for improvement and continuous professional development.
Other: Campus life is terrible, is what I would like to add. Anyone searching for this college deserves to know this.

Please don't take admission .
Placements: Only mass recruitment company has come to this college. Companies like TCS, Capgemini, PWC, Infosys, Cognizant etc. The average package around 3-4 Lacs. All the college students feel very frustrated due to poor college management. They only imposed unnecessary discipline on the students without any reason .
Infrastructure: Poor lab facilities. One lab system uses by more than 8 students at the same time. That's causing not a single student gain knowledge. Faculty are Just passing the lab time by taking attendance very slowly. Started lab class very late. Or cancel lab class without any reason.
Faculty: One single faculty teaches all the subjects. Just like selling vegetables in market. Not worth it of money. Curriculum of this not useful. They just imposed unnecessary classes of students which not help students in placements or any competitive examination.

It is recommended for you if you want good courses and placements over campus life.
Placements: The placement rate is really good in IEM. About 80%-90% of the students get placed. The highest salary package offered in on-campus placements was 15 LPA, while in off-campus placements, it was 52 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 7 LPA-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies here are TCS, CTS and Capgemini. Around 90%-95% of the students get internships every year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite basic here. The entire college has a Wi-Fi facility. A digital library has all the materials and is open 24x7. The sports room is average, and the classrooms are huge and spacious. Labs are equipped with modern instruments. The hostel facility is available, but it needs to be improved.
Faculty: The professors here are helpful and very interactive. You can contact any teacher anytime, and they encourage us to learn beyond the textbook. IEM teachers also help us in every way to build a project if we have an innovative idea. IEM also funds projects and encourages us to think other than books. The course curriculum is designed to make us industry-ready. Courses like ESP, SDP and finance are added to help us qualify in competitive exams like CAT, GATE and UPSC. Moreover, regular seminars and workshops are conducted on AI, ML, IoT, cyber-security, etc.
Other: Campus life is quite average here, and discipline is given utmost importance here. Fests are organised often, and any student can participate. Various clubs like toastmasters, robotics and rotatory are available here to enhance your skills. All kinds of sports competitions are organised, but you have to take in-charge since the teachers do not take much interest. If you want to participate in fests or competitions, schedules can be tiring because no extra ease is provided to participants.

Good, but not the best. I think it's average.
Placements: As a Computer Science student, I have some advice for the students that, Let x = DSA & y = Project, placement = 2x + y, where x>y, y != 0. Every year, from my course, more than 65% of students get placement through campus and off-campus. This year, the top recruiter was Royal Enfield.
Infrastructure: Our college provided us with many facilities, such as labs for every subject, like C lab, Data Structure lab, Java lab, and IT lab. 24/7 LAN connectivity, fresh environment, and equipment.
Faculty: Apart from all the facilities, I personally liked the training programme. I have attended two training programs. First, they taught us HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery, PHP, and MySQL. While in the second one, I learn Python, Django, Bootstrap, and SQLite.
Other: If you are choosing Computer Science, then this is the best place for you. Best of luck. I was very passionate about my course and gave my full potential in it.

Most unfiltered review of IEM.
Placements: Upto which I have personally heard from the seniors, there are a good number of companies that come for placements. Companies like EY GDS, JP Morgan, and Oracle also hire people, though the number of people hired by them is less, but provide a very good package. Other than that, almost all people get placed, of which most placements come from TCS, Capgemini, etc.
Infrastructure: For the infrastructure, I would say it just gets your job done, nothing very high-class or above average. In fact, there are quite a few problems attached, like a few computers don't work at the lab, although the Wi-Fi gets the job done. There are no AC's in most labs. The library has books limited to just class textbooks, although it is open 24/7, and you can go and study there anytime you wish. The library is air-conditioned and has working computers for self-study.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly cooperative, friendly, and helpful, and will always help you to get internships and societies. Most of the facilities teach well, but due to too many exams, they are mostly bound to finish the syllabus way too rapidly, which is ofcourse not in their hand. Most faculty members upload important notes and questions in Google Classroom, which are gold for the semester exams, and one can easily get 8-9 CGPA by following them.
Other: About why I chose this course is that I came to this college through WBJEE, and for that rank, the best one on my list was definitely IEM, I mean, you know its reputation, even as a private engineering college, it has placements better than most government colleges. About the campus life, although there are a lot of fests and events happening throughout the year, it still would give it an average rating due to the campus size, no hostel on campus, so in other words, it feels like you are a day scholar, even if you stay in a hostel.
