IIIT Kottayam Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility & Application

IIIT Kottayam does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to pass an entrance exam and participate in selection rounds for admission. The selection for BTech is based on JEE Main followed by JoSAA/ CSAB Counsellig. Admission to MTech and PhD courses is based on written tests conducted by the institute.

Candidates aspiring to enrol in the BTech programme at IIIT Kottayam must have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Also, the candidate should have a valid rank in JEE-Main exam based on which they can apply for the counselling process through JoSAA at IIIT Kottayam for the BTech programme. Aspirants must pass BTech./BE/AMIE degree in any discipline or MCA or MSc/MS degree in CS/IT/Mathematics/ Physics/Statistics with a minimum of 60% aggregate to apply for M.Tech for Working Professionals programme at IIIT Kottayam. Candidates should also be currently employed. The institute only considers the employment acquired after the qualifying degree is awarded.

IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech. 

So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.

As per the cutoff list released by IIIT Kottayam for admission to its flagship BTech programme the closing ranks for BTech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) for the year 2020, 2021 & 2022 were 605, 579 & 902, respectively. This clearly shows that the closing rank for the CSE branch at IIIT Kottayam has recorded a significant decline. Also, the closing rank for BTech in Electronics & Commmunication Engineering (ECE) recorded an excessive decrease. In addition to this, the closing rank for Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) branch with a slight decrease have been in the same slab.
