The selection process of IIIT Sri City M.Tech for Non-GATE is divided into two categories a)Non-GATE candidates with an undergraduate degree from CFTI institutes b) Non-GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA).

Non GATE Candidates with an Undergraduate degree from CFTI Institutes
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 8.0 CGPA to fall under this category.
- Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Coding Test and Personal Interview conducted by IIIT Sri City.
Non GATE General candidates (Non-CFTI or CFTI with less than 8.0 CGPA)
- Candidates who does not have an undergraduate degree from a CFTI Institute or the aggregate score from CFTI institute is less than 8.0 CGPA, falls under this category.
- The selection is based on the entrance test conducted by IIIT Sri City, the syllabus of this entrance test is similar to GATE Syllabus.
- After appearing for the entrance test, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Coding test followed by a personal interview.
- Prior work experience will be given additional weightage in the selection process.
