To get admission in IIM Kozhikode, students need to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute selects students on an entrance basis mainly. Students have to appear for the accepted exam + counselling + other selection rounds. Selected students have to pay the admission fees to complete the process.

Candidates seeking for admission to IIM Kozhikode must check the eligibility criteria for the course they want to apply at IIMK. Further, the second step is the application process. Candidates applying for Management courses must submit the scores of CAT/ GMAT/ GRE at the time of filling the application form. Further, the institute also conduct EMAT for admission to E-MBA course. Based on entrance exam scores, the shortlisted students are called for Written Ability Test (WAT)/ Personal Interview (PI). However, WAT/PI rounds are not conducted for all the courses. Later on, candidates are allocated seats as per their performance in the selection rounds. 

The students of PGP, PGP-BL and FPM programmes are required to reside on campus. Residential facilities in the campus include 13 student hostels and faculty guest houses. Roobaroo is a cultural event conducted every year during the induction of the new batch to acclimate students to IIMK culture and build a good on-campus community. The Students' Council facilitates elections to the other student committees on campus. In order to get into IIM Kozhikode PGP, you need to pass in CAT with a high percentile. There are also criteria of eligibility: 60 percent in 12 and 50 -60 percent in graduation.
