IIM Raipur Admission Overview 2027
IIM Raipur offers several Management courses at the PG, Certificate and Doctoral levels. Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the flagship course, which is available for a duration of two years in a full-time mode. Besides MBA (General), IIM Raipur also offers an executive MBA and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Some of the major highlights related to IIM Raipur admission 2027 are below:
- Popular course: MBA is the residential programme of IIM Raipur. Some of the electives available for students are Finance, Human Resource Management, IT & Operations, Marketing and Strategy and General Management.
- Eligibility: Bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for reserved categories).
- Accepted exams: The institute accepts the CAT 2026 exam for most of its Management programmes, but for its PhD course, it also accepts GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ (CSIR-UGC-NET), in case a candidate doesn't appear for CAT.
- Selection Process: For admission to the flagship MBA programme, selection is based on CAT score, Class 10 & 12 scores, PI score, work experience, Gender Diversity Score, etc.

- Course Fee: IIM Raipur fees for MBA is INR 18.41 lakh; this fee might also include components other than tuition fees. Other fee components, such as one-time payment, hostel fee and other fees, will be charged separately by the students.
- Ranking: In the 'Management' category, Indian Institute of Management Raipur was ranked 15th by the NIRF Rankings 2025.
- Placement: As per the IIM Raipur placements 2025, the average and highest packages offered were INR 18.83 lakhs and INR 33.12 lakhs, respectively, for the MBA batch.
- Scholarship: IIM Raipur offers scholarships for MBA in Public Policy and Governance. Available only for the domicile of Chhattisgarh, the government will sponsor the entire tuition fee for the students selected for this course. Every student enrolled on this course will get a monthly stipend of INR 50,000.

IIM Raipur Application Process 2027
To apply for CAT 2026, candidates must follow the steps given below. The registration window is currently open for the academic year 2027-29 for admission to the MBA course. Check out the steps below:
- Visit the CAT exam website, iimcat.ac.in.
- Click on CAT 2026 registration
- Enter name, date of birth, nationality, phone number, and email ID to register
- Log in using the registered ID and fill out the CAT application form
- Upload a recent passport-size photo and a scanned signature
- Select preferred courses and IIMs
- Select CAT exam city preferences from the drop-down menu
- Pay the CAT application fee of INR 2,700 (General, EWS and NC-OBC) and INR 1,350 (SC, ST and PwD) via credit/debit card or net banking
1) Register for Joint Admission Process (JAP)
JAP admission will open after the announcement of the CAT 2026 results. Candidates with a valid CAT score can only apply for JAP, wherein they are required to select their preferred IIM (IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli), as these four follow the JAP admission procedure. While filling the form via JAP, it is mandatory to provide the APAAR ID. The step-wise admission process is given below for candidates with a valid CAT score to apply through JAP admission portal.
2) Shortlisting of candidates for the PI for JAP
A category-wise shortlist will be prepared based on CAT 2026 score to participate in the PI round. The institute will then release the final merit list of selected students based on CAT score, PI, Class 10, 12 and graduation percentage, work experience, gender diversity and academic background.
3) Seat allocation & confirmation
After clearing the JAP selection process, students will be called for final seat allotment to confirm their seat, document verification, etc. The admission offer will be released to the students via email.

IIM Raipur offers a two-year full-time MBA course, which comprises six trimesters. MBA is IIM Raipur's flagship course, and it also offers an executive MBA curated for working professionals and Doctoral courses in the field of Management. IIM Raipur's executive MBA is designed to be completed in two years. Admission to the IIM Raipur courses is strictly entrance exam-based. IIM Raipur accepts admission in its MBA programme based on the scores of the CAT exam. Eligible students can apply through the IIM Joint Admission Process (JAP). Besides CAT, other components like Class 10 & 12 scores, PI score, work experience, Gender Diversity Score, etc are also taken into consideration for preparing the final merit list as per the set weightage by the admission department.

The answer to this question of whether an average student can get into IIM can be both yes and no depending on the definition of an average student.
- Based on Academics (Class 10/ Class 12/ Graduation): While a student with average scores in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation with a good CAT score certainly has good chances of getting a call from IIM-A, chances are less for someone with an average CAT score.
- Based on student category (General or Reserved): While it is tough for a General category average student to grab a seat at IIM due to high score requirements, a reserved category student can get admission being at average scores as well.
- Based on past work experience, diversity and other factors: Gender and academic diversity is also a factor on which students are shortlisted at IIM. IIMs judge the past academic category based on the degree obtained by the students before MBA and then a weightage is allotted based on that. For Engineers, the percentage for scoring the highest marks is higher as compared with other streams
- Performance in selection rounds: Once you make it to the final selection rounds, i.e., AWT/PI process, it can be considered a fresh start. At this stage, students can forget their past average-ness but definitely require good grasp over the past subjects as academics-related questions are asked in the interview.

No, it is not possible to get admission to IIM Raipur with a percentile of 90 in CAT. IIM Raipur CAT cutoff 2024 was 94 for the General AI category candidates. Candidates with the percentile of 94 or more will be able to get admission to the college.
