IIMC Entrance Exam Syllabus 2025: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) prescribes the IIMC entrance exam syllabus 2025 under the supervision of the National Testing Agency (NTA). IIMC Entrance Exam Syllabus

The online computer-based entrance test will be of 100 marks and the MCQs will broadly cover the following topics/subjects:

  • General Awareness, including an understanding of the current trends in the social-political-economic sphere.
  • India's socio-political-cultural history, legal and Constitutional provisions, Rights of Citizens,
  • India's developmental issues – economy, infrastructure, health, education, environment, science and technology etc.

For the candidates appearing for CUET PG, the exam pattern is such that the number of questions will be 100 and they will be divided into two parts: Part A: Consisting of Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Mathematical/Quantitative Ability and Analytical Skills comprising of 25 MCQs and Part B: Domain Knowledge comprising of 75 MCQs. For those appearing for Regional Language PG Diploma Journalism courses, the question paper will be descriptive and objective in nature. There will be Long, Short and Multiple-Choice question (MCQ) type questions.

The CUET-PG 'Mass Communication and Journalism' paper (paper code - COQP17) is meant for all mass comm entrance (of the participating institutes) including IIMC entrance. CUET PG 2025 for Mass Communication and Journalism paper was conducted on March 29, 2025. Examinees had to take the test within 90 minutes. They were presented with 75 MCQs from topics like general awareness, awareness of current public issues, Indian History and social sciences, IT and its application, and mass media and society.

IIMC entrance exam pattern is such that there will be two separate Entrance Exams in two separate sittings on the same day. One entrance examination will be for 4 courses i.e., PG Diploma in Hindi Journalism, PG Diploma in English Journalism, PG Diploma in Public Relations & Advertising and PG Diploma in Radio & Television. While the another exam will be for Regional Language Journalism courses (Odia, Marathi, Malayalam and Urdu). Each Test will be of Two Hours (120 minutes) time duration and comprise of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based on General Knowledge & General Aptitude including a few general questions from the field of Media & Communication carrying 100 marks.
