XET Syllabus 2026 for the Objective Section
Important topics that candidates should study to perform well in the objective section of the XIC Entrance Test (XET) exam for admission in Mass Communication PG Diploma courses are as mentioned below:
Language Skills
In this section of the exam, the language ability of aspirants will be tested. Questions will be from topics related to correcting the spellings, singular, plural, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, one-word substitutes, etc.
General Knowledge and Knowledge of Media
In this section questions related to general knowledge and current affairs awareness will be asked wherein an aspirant’s aptitude regarding the same will be tested. Thus, candidates need to be up-to-date with political, social and economic happenings in the country and abroad.
Logical and Analytical Skills
In this section, a candidate’s ability to identify a problem and the means to solve it is tested. Aspirants should practice questions on topics like series, blood relations, directions, critical reasoning, syllogism, and analogy.

Students should start preparing for XET at least four months before exams. It takes time to prepare for XIC entrance test. So, students are advised to start with syllabus early. Also, they are advised to focus on current events for General Awareness section and solving reasoning questions quickly to save time.
The application process for XIC entrance test 2026 will probably start in the first week of March 2026. The application fee for XET 2026 will be stated in the online form. As per last year, the XIC OET application fee is INR 2500 (inclusive of GST).
Candidates will receive XET admit card via email at least a week before exam. They must also check their spam or junk mail to avoid missing out on admit card. Students are also advised to keep the admit card with them for further admission process after test.

According to official website, the Xavier's Institute of Communication conducts the XIC OET entrance exam in English medium only. XIC forbids students from using slangs or short forms in entrance test. Any use of such words can result in disqualification.
