One of the best colleges for research and development.
Placements: The lowest package is around 8 LPA and the highest is 28.5 LPA. Top recruiting company is Barclays. Top roles are for economics department and one for data science engineer. Minimum of 20% of the batch and the major department students are placed.
Infrastructure: Labs, lecture hall, classes, library, computer centers, and hostels all have excellent infrastructure and facilities. The quality of food in mess is very good compared to other institutes' mess. Canteen food is also good and medical facilities are very impressive, it has 24/7 treatment for everyone and provides two ambulance.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and they provide teaching assistants also. They make students industry-ready. Exams are very difficult we have exams in order of quiz 1 then midsem then quiz 2 the endsem for the entire semester quizzes carry 20% weightage and midsem and endsem carry 30% and 50% weightage.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest. It gives knowledge about engineering as well as research. Events and all the extracurricular activities are very nice on campus.

It is one of the best colleges for research, as well as for BS in Engineering and Economics.
Placements: Approximately 70-80% of IISER Bhopal students get placed in companies like TCS Research, Adobe, MathWorks, and IBM Research. Apart from this, students can pursue higher studies at IISc Bangalore, IITs, MIT, and Harvard. The highest package is around 20 LPA, and the minimum is around 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: IISER Bhopal's infrastructure is amazing, as each department has its own 3-4 labs where students can work with professors easily without any problem. There is also a huge central library and a fully fledged shopping center, so students do not have to go outside. Hostels are spacious, and there are multiple options for food, like the mess, Ideation Hut, Indian Coffee House, and the shopping center.
Faculty: Faculty members at IISER Bhopal are highly qualified. Most of them are Ph.D. holders from various institutions in India and abroad. They are approachable, knowledgeable, and supportive. Especially for students inclined towards research, the course curriculum they follow is a well-tested on foreign, so it is relevant. You can become industry-ready through it. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage depends on the overall batch CPI, as most of the courses use relative grading.
Other: I choose it because of my interest in research. Enthusiasm in the event they organize yearly like a fest. It's very good. Multiple events have occurred on the campus throughout the semester.

Great infrastructure, facilities, faculty, staff, and resources, it needs more exposure.
Placements: As far as I have heard, placements in our college aren’t great since we are a research institute, and not many companies come for recruitment, but students still get recruited by the very few companies that do. People often pursue Ph.D. and Master’s before looking for jobs.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are great, and the infrastructure is of top quality. You have all resources to succeed in what you do. Sports facilities are regularly maintained and upgraded, and the mess provides great food. The medical facilities are also great, and for emergencies, there is a nearby Chirayu Hospital that offers almost all types of healthcare facilities. The only problem is that it's very far from the campus, though taking buses solves that problem, it does consume a lot of time.
Faculty: All professors are very qualified, but obviously, some are better teachers than others, and that difference can’t be helped. The course structure is slightly unusual, given that in engineering, we aren’t taught the most important subjects until the third year.
Other: My reason for chosing this course is that I don’t want to pursue a typical engineering degree. But after being here for 2 years, I have realized pros and cons of a standard engineering program. The BS in Engineering Sciences is still a BS degree, and people do struggle in the engineering field because of the sheer competition from B.Tech degrees. But, it’s not hopeless, the degree is equivalent to a B.Tech, and you can still get the jobs you want. It all depends on the amount of effort you put in. Connectivity is great, events are great, overall, it’s a great experience.

Q: What is the eligibility criteria for BSc at IISER Bhopal?

IISER Bhopal offers three admission channels: SCB (state central board), KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana), and IIT JEE Advanced for admission to the BS and BS-MS (Dual Degree) programmes. Based on the category rank list that is acquired from KVPY, a common rank list is generated for candidates who apply through the KVPY channel, giving equal weight to SX, SA, and SB. The JEE (Advanced) category rank list determines the candidates' assignments when they apply through the JEE channel. For applicants using the SCB channel, a Common Merit List (CML) and a category-wise merit list of candidates are created. IISER Bhopal with 70% in class 12th is also possible.
