- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for IIT Dhanbad admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech and PhD courses has concluded. Results are scheduled for release on Mar 19, 2026.

The difference between eligibility criteria of MBA and MBA in Business Analytics courses offered at IIT Dhanbad are as follows:
General MBA: Graduates in any discipline with first class or having 60% marks or CGPA of 6.0 out of 10 (55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 for SC/ ST/ PwD) are eligible to apply.
MBA in Business Analytics: Candidates with BTech/ BE degree in any discipline from a recognised university/ institute with at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.0 out of 10 CGPA (55% marks in aggregate or 5.5 CGPA out of 10 in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD (Differently Abled Categories) will be eligible for the programme.

The eligibility criteria for MTech course at IIT Dhanbad is Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent or a Master's degree in Science/Arts/Commerce with at least 60% aggregate or CGPA/CPI of 6.0 in 10 point scale (55% aggregate or 5.5 CGPA for SC/ST). The organising institute for GATE 2024 was IISc Bangalore. The exam was conducted online as a computer-based test for 29 papers. Candidates had to solve 65 questions in 180 minutes (3 hours).
