I am satisfied with placements.

Placements: In our college, around 50% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 23 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like ONGC, Cairn, Tata, SLB, Vedanta, ExxonMobil, etc., visit our campus. Almost all students get internships in the oil, gas, and mineral fields.

Infrastructure: Our college provides excellent infrastructure. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Air-conditioners are available in the libraries, labs, and classrooms. The quality of the food in the mess is good. Medical facilities are available.

Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable. The course makes students industry-ready. Exams are difficult. We have a grading system in this institute, and the syllabus structure is very unique.

Other: I chose this college because of its unique course structure, which makes students industry-ready. Our college organised sports and games activities.

Dissatisfied because of campus life, rest all is good.

Placements: Providing information about passed out batch 1. Around 25% students got placement offers. 2. The highest salary is 17 Lacs per annum, the lowest is around 9 Lacs per annum and average would be like 12 Lacs per annum. 3. ONGC, COAL INDIA, SCHLUMBERGER, OIL, INDIAN OIL, CAIRN INDIA offered the jobs. 4. GEOLOGIST was the role offered. 6. 100% internship In ongc, coal India, AMD, TATA STEEL etc.

Infrastructure: 1. Wi-Fi, labs with AC, a big central library along with a small departmental counterpart, well maintained classrooms 2. Hostels are a bit old, mess food is average and it vary from hostel to hostel, medical facilities are extremely good and sufficient sports arena are there.

Faculty: 1. The teachers in our department are the top bosses of their topic within the country. Many of them are post doctorates as well. 2. Yes, it makes students industry ready by compulsory training programmes, workshops organised by the institute itself. Though the course curriculum needs to be changed a bit which has already been done with effect from 2019 onwards.

Other: 1. This integrated course is only offered here so I chose it by my choice over other institutions. 2. Syllabus needed to be changed previously and it has already been done keeping in mind the flourishment of the subject in global aspect. 3. Workshops, fests happen every year along with reunion programs. Campus is not at all crowded. Connectivity is also good. You will get public transport right from the campus GATE. Inside rickshaws are available. The institute offers merit cum means scholarships to needy students.

A good institute, and it develops the personality of students.

Placements: The college has good placement in the recent years. After getting the IIT tag, the number of placements increases. Various companies like ONGC, CAIRN, VEDANTA, CIL, OIL come to give opportunities to the students through campus placements. Almost 11 students joined ONGC, 10 joined Vedanta, 2 in CIL, 3 in OIL, 2 in CAIRN and 2 in Schlumberger. Some students from our department going for summer industrial internship in various companies like WCL, NCL, ONGC, BCCL, AMD, CAIRN and NALCO. Some are going to academic summer training in institutes like Wadia, CU, PRL, NGRI, PU, JU and IIT, Gandhinagar.

Infrastructure: The college has a very advanced infrastructure. There is a library on the 9th floor with central AC and high-speed Wi-Fi. Labs are good having advanced instruments. Classrooms are in good condition, and every hostel has its own canteen. A night canteen is also present in every hostel. Hostels are in good condition, and every room is 2 seater. There is LAN and Wi-Fi connection available, and there are 2 playgrounds to play outdoor games, and we can also play indoor games. Every game has its own ground in SAC, and medical facilities are available in the hostel. There is a health centre on the campus, and a doctor is present 24*7 for any query of the students.

Faculty: Faculty are very helpful and well-qualified. Teaching quality is good, and they even give their personal time for students to clear their doubts. All the teachers of our department are doing various projects under the Indian government. There are 19 professors in our department, and they are all well-qualified. They also do fieldwork with us in our field. Teachers mainly emphasize on the industrial exposure in our study. They teache us how to apply book knowledge in the field.

Other: There are some cultural fests and geological fests organised. The institute provides some merit scholarship to students.

Proud to be a student of IIT (ISM) DHANBAD. All my reviews are from my heart & 100% genuine.

Placements: The placements were & always are upto the mark since the institution's inception. Several companies particularly the energy sectors like ONGC, Coal India, HPCL, Sclumberger, British Gas, Halliburton, Shell, OIL India, IOCL, Vedanta, Cairn India visit the campus every year & recruit a whole bunch of meritorious students. The Placement % of my senior batch is more than 50%. ONGC recruited about 16 students from the Applied Geology Department previous year.

Infrastructure: All the above mentioned facilities are available in the campus. They are all upto the mark like all other IITs in our country. The Food Quality is absolutely fine. Dorm Rooms are quite spacious with proper required furniture for hostel inmates. No I have never faced infrastructure related issues.

Faculty: Yes the teachers are skilled in their respective fields. They are interactive & very helpful. The teaching quality is way beyond good. We have the best teachers here at ISM. My department has a faculty of about 20. Each batch comprises of 60 students. Yes the students do get Industry Exposure. The department conducts Vocational Training Programme at various energy sectors during summer vacation. Internships come along with that. The course curriculum is very useful.

Other: Srijan- Annual Cultural Fest, Basant- Annual Reunion, Various Tech Fests, AAPG, Geoconfluence, Kalinga, Oitijhya & so on & so forth.

The story of IIT (ISM) in a nutshell.

Placements: Placement is the only thing that you can get here. No other thiny will you learn from here. The problem mainly is the pattern to exam system and schedule of classes which creates a lot of pressure on a students mind. Anyhow in terms of placement it is one of the best college.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is somehow which you can rely on. But the thing is that only this thing is not enough to be a good college. Many more things are also required which this college lacks very badly. The open campus creates a lot of nuisance for the students due to invasion of outsiders.

Faculty: All the faculty are highly qualified but the vary of teaching of most of them is not catchy at all. Though few of the teachers are excellent. Course curriculum is also bad for M.Sc. Tech candidates as they require to know non departmental subject in almost every semester which is very hectic for a student pursuing Masters degree.

Other: One more drawback is the restricted entry of rented vehicles carrying luggage of the students after 9 pm. So if you are late you have to carry everything and walk from the main GATE.
