No, candidates can only get into IIT Goa for M.Tech on the basis of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) scores followed by COAP counselling. There is no provision for Management quota or direct entry available at the college. Indian Institute of Technology Goa, through seven schools of study, offers postgraduate, undergraduate, and Ph.D. courses to students. These courses are offered across Engineering and several other streams. The School of Mathematics and Computer Science and the School of Chemical and Materials Science has two other departments under them. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2399 to 2476 for OBC, 1764 to 1491 for SC, 695 to 554 for ST, 837 to 990 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories, however, the ranks are slightly different.

IIT Goa MTech fee is a cumulative of multiple components such as tuition fee, hostel fee, library fee, security deposit, etc. Some of the components are one-time chargeable, while some have to be paid annually/half-yearly. In addition to the course fee, students are also required to pay for the entrance exam's application via which they are offered admission at IIT Goa. 

Aspirants who have completed a master's degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate or CPI 6/ 10 or equivalent (55% aggregate or CPI 5.5/10 for SC/ ST) with a minimum of two-years of work experience at the time of application are eligible to apply for part-time PhD programme. 

Candidates who have completed bachelor's degree or master's degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology at least 60% aggregate or CPI 6/ 10 or equivalent (55% aggregate or CPI 5.5/10 for SC/ ST) can also apply. Aspirants need to have a four-year of experience after bachelor's degree and one-year experience after master's degree.

Candidates applying for PhD course at IIT Goa have to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 200. There is a relaxation in the application fee for SC/ ST/ PwD/ EWS/ female candidates. The fee for such aspirants is INR 200. Aspirants need to pay the application fee via any of the online payment modes.

Merit-cum-Means scholarship is offered to non-SC/ST students at IIT Goa. This scholarship is available for BTech programme students and is awarded to a maximum of 25% of the sanctioned intake of undergraduate students. The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 7902 and closing rank was 8909. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 2709 and 14463. Admission to BTech in Electrical Engineering in IIT Goa is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

IIT Goa applications usually open in second week of June every year. The applications closes by the end of June. The institute also conducts a written test followed by interview to shortlist aspirants for the PhD programme. Aspirants with a valid score in GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, etc. can also apply for the PhD course.

Candidates need to complete a master's degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent degree with 60% aggregate or CPI 6/10 or equivalent. (55% aggregate or CPI 5.5/10 or equivalent for SC/ST) to apply for IIT Goa PhD programme. Candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Technology with a minimum of 70% aggregate or CPI 7 (65% aggregate or 6.5 CPI for SC/ ST candidates) can also apply.

For 2023, cut off was 13483 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Goa - Indian Institute of Technology.
