Hence, admissions to the BTech course at IIT Jammu is not possible without any entrance exams. Candidates must prepare well in advance for the entrance exams as the competition is quite high. Students can give JEE Main mock tests or can even study past year papers.

In the first year of the BTech course, students have to study common topics related to the field of Science/Engineering. From the second year of the course, the subjects are more related to the chosen course specialisation. No, IIT Jammu admit candidates to its BTech programmes based on JEE Main qualification followed by JEE Advanced scores only. There is no other accepted entrance exam and provision for admission. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of exam scores have to take part in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment. The seats are allotted in accordance with the released cutoff and the applicants preferred college and course.
