CSE and MNC courses in IIT Jammu are better than the IIT lower branches.
Placements: 2024-25 placement data has not been updated till now. The highest package is recorded off campus. In the year 2023-24, around 85-90% of students got placed. The placement cell is working hard to get us placed. Top recruiting companies for our course are Graviton, Samsung, MediaTek, Qualcomm, MathWorks, BP, L&T, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Deloitte, and Flipkart. 80% of students got internships in DRDO, Adobe, Samsung, T&P, etc. For the 2023-24 batch, the highest package is 53 LPA, and the average package ranges from 15-19 LPA. The lowest package is 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: C3i labs are highly equipped with the latest technology. It has new libraries, and a reading hall has been recently built. Classrooms are really huge and the biggest one has 160 seating capacity. We have Nescafe which is open on all days till 1 PM. We also have a canteen near the academic building. The food quality in the mess is not so good, but don't worry the breakfast here is always good, so students should not miss it. Medical facilities are available 24X7. Nearly every sports facility is present here, and we can literally explore a lot here.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. For the teaching quality, I would rate 4 out of 5. The course curriculum in the 1st and 2nd semesters includes some courses that are not related to our branch. The main departmental courses start from 3rd semester, so students can trust the process. We should keep hustling side by side to develop other skills. Semester exams are too easy, and we can easily get an 8.5 SGPA by studying one night before exams. The pass percentage varies usually, and it remains more than 90%.
Other: Our batch is competitive but supportive. We have each type of people here. I chose CSE in IIT Jammu because the average package is good enough for a fresher, even though it is a new IIT and still developing. The best thing about the course is that it is not too hectic and we will have time for other chores. We have an annual cultural fest named Anhad and an annual tech fest named Nexus. It organises an annual sports fest named Pravah. We will enjoy the campus, and events will keep us engaged.

It's a great place to live in with an amazing infrastructure and growing tech culture.
Placements: In our batch (third year) about 16/40 students got internships in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Warner Bros, Samsung, etc. Even I got 2 internships as an SDE intern at WBD and the other as a 6-month summer intern (SWE role) at Amazon. The highest package till now in our senior batch is around 62 LPA which is an offer given by Atlassian.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great. It gives a luxurious feel. A new academic block has been built this semester only, which has bigger AC classrooms and well-equipped labs. The campus has access to 24/7 Wi-Fi with good speed. Mess services are okay, could be worse. Sports culture is improving day by day.
Faculty: Majority of faculty members in the CSE department are good. They are very easily approachable since there are less number of students here compared to other IITs. Course curriculum is good, can be improved a bit, but it's okay, it makes students industry-ready if they are interested in tech. End sem exams are on the tougher side maintaining the standards of IIT, but going to class will help you a lot.
Other: I want to solve a big myth about IIT Jammu about it not being safe. It's completely safe, majorly everything that happens in the Kashmir side which is very far away from us. Jammu is a very safe city with very simple people so don't opt the idea of joining in here because it is in Jammu and Kashmir.

One of the above average colleges in IIT Jammu.
Placements: I do not know but average package always lies between 18 LPA to 24 LPA. Around 85% of students get placed in CSE every year. The placements are good in CS branch while other branches have bad placements. We should get atleast 7.5 CG to get good placements. All students above are placed by considering their merit but not CG.
Infrastructure: Everything is fine but room cleaning is not so frequent. The mess doesn't provide non-veg because of some budget issues. But the food is okay and hygienic. The taste is not good but the quality is good. The 1st and 2nd year students have 2 shared rooms and 3rd and 4th year male students have 1 shared room with inbuilt air-conditioning.
Faculty: Whatever faculty members teach is not so much understandable to people who have language barriers like South Indian. I am a South Indian I personally think that teachers on Youtube teach way better than college teachers. So I always study on Youtube and attend classes only for attendance.
Other: They form communities and racism exists but no ragging in this college. Racism means all kinds of racism. But people act respectfully in front of all girls and other people. Most of the college people are good.

About Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu.
Placements: As per my information from seniors, more than 80% of students from CSE got placed. The highest package is around 54 LPA. The lowest is 9 LPA, and average package is 19 LPA. Top recruiters are Graviton, Paytm, Meesho, Nvidia, Amazon, etc. In the CSE department, 75% of the students got internships from some top colleges.
Infrastructure: For 1st and 2nd year students (boys) sharing a room is given (2 people per room). It is quite sufficient and we are given a bed, table, chair, and almirah. Wi-Fi facility is good and library is not too big. Classroom infrastructure is good with multiple boards and projector screens. Labs are also fully equipped. The food in the mess is edible and canteen service is not bad. Medical facilities are good and constructed new block dedicated only to sports with nice equipment.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and the quality of teaching is good. There are many useful courses and some courses which I feel are not required by a computer student to learn but are still there. Semester exams are medium difficult and pass percentage depends on the difficulty of the course.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computers. The best thing about my course is that we get some nice information regarding computers. I wish they could teach some of the latest technologies in computers rather than making us study mechanics, and engineering materials which I believe are not at all required for a CS student. Campus crowd is not much so everyone gets a chance to get involved in extra-curriculars. Fests are held once a year.

One of the fastest growing new IIT : IIT Jammu.
Placements: Overall, 81.10% of the eligible students were placed in 2023. In the computer science and engineering course, approximately 91% of students got placed. Overall, the median package was 16 LPAs. The median package of the CSE branch is 22 LPA. Companies hire students for both tech and non-tech roles. Many students also get internship offers in their third year of B.Tech.
Infrastructure: The college campus has all the facilities that are needed for students, be it the latest labs, modern classrooms, sports fields, Wi-Fi, etc. The hostels are present on the campus. The college provided shared hostels to its students. The quality of the food is good. The taste of the mess food is also acceptable.
Faculty: The teaching faculty present here at IIT Jammu is highly qualified. All of the professors have done their Ph.D.s at very reputed colleges around the world. The curriculum followed is the latest and it also makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult here.
Other: I chose this course because I've got a deep interest in coding languages. The best thing about this course is that it provides excellent placement opportunities for the students. The campus life at IIT Jammu is also good. Every month, 1–3 events are conducted at the college. The crowd is also good. Also, an annual cultural festival is held. The connectivity is also decent. The nearest railway station and airport are 15 and 17 km away, respectively. The college also provides scholarships and other financial assistance to needy students.

IIT Jammu review and its perks along with facts.
Placements: About 90% of students get placed in my courses. The highest package is 54 LPA and the lowest package is 9 LPA. The top recruiting company is Razor Pay. Roles were offered on the basis of what they were really into, like teaching gigs, and software developer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is currently in the developing stage. It would be completed soon, as expected. But college is equipped with all kinds of labs, Wi-Fi and much more. The medical facility is top-notch here. We have 5 hostels here (Canary, Braege, Dedhar, Regret and Fulgar). These are equipped with some sports (according to the space available). Mess food is good to eat.
Faculty: Student-to-professor ratio is a key factor in this IIT. Faculty are highly qualified because of the tough process of selection. The curriculum is changed on the basis of the requirements of the industry and they are catching up properly with it. Semester exams are definitely worth it if you study.
Other: For me, the choice was not easy but I chose this in comparison to the lower branch at 1 gen IIT because CSE holds the future of the upcoming world. Courses on AI and ML are the best part of the course. If management skills were added to the course, it would be the best. The connectivity of the campus is excellent, as it lies along the main route of Jammu. The crowd is smaller as it is a relatively new college.

Averagely satisfied because of 100 percent placement in CSE department.
Placements: About 90 percent students get placed every year. But from CSE department placement is 100 percent. The highest package was 54 LPA for B.Tech student whereas for M.Tech, it was 52 LPA in 2022. Amazon, L&T, etc. are the top recruting companies. I think it was the software developed field where the highest package was offered.
Infrastructure: All the faculty members are helpful. One can ask their doubts anytime iff the teachers are available. Different clubs are there to join eg. Robotics club, drama club etc. Wi-Fi is available, one can use it by their unique id Food in mess is average would say. Non vage students has to plays extra amount. Every sport is available if not one can avail the same through the permission of director of the institute.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They try their best to attract the attention of the students towards the lecture. In each semester two class test is conducted, one mid sem exam and one end sem. Papers are easy only if you attend the classes on a regular basis. Pass percentage is 30.
Other: I belong to CSE department. I have thought in 12 standard that one need to only study only about computer in CSE but in this department every thing taught from ethical behaviour to speaking English .

Decent placements for 3rd gen IIT.
Placements: Around 85% of total students got placed in the year 2022. The highest package offered was of 53 LPA, the lowest was 6LPA and Average was 21 LPA. Top companies visiting the campus included Amazon, sprinklr, Mathworks, Nvidia etc. Many students from CSE got internship in companies like trilogy, samsung, amazon, atlassian, microsoft. Roles offered to students include swe, sde, product engineering, analyst etc.
Infrastructure: Though the library is small currently, It has almost all the books which are relevent to the courses in our curriculum. Labs for CS department are well-equipped. The hostels are new and thus have all the necessary facilites. The mess food is average. Some sports facilities are present and are increasing day by day. A Dedicated Medical Unit is present inside the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The courses taught in CS are all relevant and necessary to be industry ready. The semester exams are of standard level on an average with some courses being difficult to pass for many students but most of the courses are doable by putting appropriate effort.
Other: Best thing about CS course is the value of it in the job market. We have fair a number of extracurricular activities organised each semester including sports and cultural activities.
