About the JEE Main exam

JEE Main is one of the most competitive and important engineering entrance exams in India and is taken by over 10 to 12 lakh students. It is conducted twice a year in January and April at national level for candidates aspiring to pursue engineering, architecture and planning courses after completing their class 12. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared JEE Mains 2026 result session 1 on February 16, 2026. The JEE Main result 2026 is declared for session 1 on its official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in and Shreyas Mishra from Delhi (NCT) range topped the JEE Main 2026 exam this year as he scored 100 percentile. Shreyas Mishra is among the 12 toppers of JEE Main this year who have scored 300 out of 300 marks and have got 100 percentile.

The top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Mains also qualify for the JEE Advanced exam. The JEE Advanced exam is the only gateway to premier engineering institutions - Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The JEE Main exam consists of three papers - BE/BTech (paper 1), BArch (paper 2a) and BPlan (paper 2b). The questions in the exam are framed from the class 11 and 12 level syllabus prescribed by NTA.

No, JEE Main is not compulsory for Intellipaat School of Technology, Pune BTech admissions. The institute conducts an in-house test based on which seats are given. Aspirants have to appear for the ISTEE to get admission in the institute.

Yes, MITS Deemed to be University accepts valid score in JEE (Main) for admission in its BTech programme. Students can also choose take the MITSUCET instead which is conducted by the university for BTech admission.

  • Candidates cannot use the JEE Main city slip 2026 for entry at the exam centre. Only the admit card can be used to enter the centre and for verification.
  • The National Testing Agency,  in no case, will issue duplicate JEE Main admit cards at test centres

No, Shetty Institute of Technology does not accept JEE Main. Students do not have to submit JEE scores. Instead, students need to appear for the CET exam. The institute may accept other tests for management quota admissions.
