IIT Jammu Academic and Research Facilities
IIT Jammu has a 6-floor academic block, consisting of 50 laboratories, 10 classrooms, and 125 faculty houses. The classrooms are modern and have the latest technology. 24/7 high-speed Wi-Fi is available for students. There are modern labs with advanced equipment such as FTIR, GC-MS, and NMR, as well as a Central Instrumentation Facility. These facilities offer microscopy, spectroscopy, and X-ray characterisation services. 24-hour high-speed wifi is available on campus for smooth and speedy internet. Various short-term courses, workshops and faculty development programmes are being held from time to time.

IIT Jammu Hostel and Residential Facilities
IIT Jammu has separate hostel buildings for boys and girls on its permanent campus. For fresher students, there is a dedicated Hostel 16, while the students of the second and third year are shifted to other hostels. The hostels are well-equipped and offer comfortable lodging and boarding facilities. The rooms are offered on a twin-sharing as well as single occupancy basis. Essential amenities such as basic furniture, internet facilities, indoor/outdoor games, and reading rooms are present in the hostel premises.
The hostel facilities offered are a garden, an indoor as well outdoor gym. Every hostel has a washing machine and a music room. There are common rooms where most hostel-level meetings take place. The mess facility ensures that students have access to nutritious and delicious meals.

- The Jammu Airport, which is 15-20 kilometres away. From the airport, one can hire a taxi or a bus.
- Jammu Tawi Railway Station (JAT), from where either a taxi or a bus can be taken to reach the institute.
- Road: Students can opt to take the NH44 or other routes to get to the institute.

The schedule of JEE Main counselling will be declared by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority after the declaration of the JEE Main result. The counselling will be conducted tentatively in the months of June and July. There will be a total of six rounds of counselling and seat allotment which will be conducted by JOSAA. Students who will appear in JEE Main 2024 and will obtain a valid score will be eligible to participate in the JEE Main counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs including IIT Jammu.
