IIT Kanpur MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Kanpur Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a full-time programme of two-year duration. This course is offered via the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS). Divided into four semesters, the programme includes compulsory and elective courses and a capstone project in the interest area of the participant. The institute offers the programme in seven core specialisations of Management.
IIT Kanpur MBA admissions are purely entrance-based. To seek admission, candidates must have appeared for CAT. Moreover, interested candidates must complete the eligibility criteria for IIT Kanpur MBA, the eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed BTech or BE or BArch (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12) or,
- Four-year BSc Engineering degree (with Mathematics as one of the subjects), or
- Four-year BSc degree (with Mathematics as one of the subjects), or
- MSc (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme), or
- Master of Arts in Economics (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme) with at least 60% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ST) or
- A CPI of 6.0 (5.0 for SC/ST) on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognised institute/university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally. They must complete all the requirements of the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.
To be selected for IIT Kanpur MBA a CAT overall percentile required is 80 for GN, EWS, and OBC applicants (55 percentile for SC and ST applicants).
IIT Kanpur MBA Fees 2024
For admission to IIT Kanpur courses, students must pay various fee components included in the IIT Kanpur fee structure. The college fees also includes a one-time fee and the semester fees which is paid semester-wise. The total tuition fee for the MBA programme ranges between INR 2.8 lakh and INR 13.5 lakh. Students choosing accommodation are required to pay INR 61,400 - INR 1.7 lakh as hostel fees.

IIT Kanpur MBA placement 2024 report has been released. The Kanpur average package and highest package offered to the MBA students were INR 18.20 LPA and INR 24 LPA, respectively.
