A. Yes, IIT Kanpur also offers an option of a dual degree, i.e., Bachelors-Masters Dual Degree to the students. A student earns both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the end of this five-year course. The dual degree programme has three categories:

• Category A: In this case, both degrees are in the same discipline/department. Example: BTech-M Tech.
• Category B: This is a two-discipline/ department programme where the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is in a different discipline/ department. Thus, three combinations are possible in this category, ex: BTech-M Tech, BTech-MS and BTech-MDes. Students can choose any one of the aforementioned combinations. 
• Category C: In this case, the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is MBA. Ex: BTech-MBA.

While in 2019, the closing cutoff rank of the last round stood at 217, the closing rank for 2020 was a little less competitive (stood at 239). Candidates seeking admission to MTech at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur must have passed a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (4-year course) or must have completed their master's degree in Science with marks not below the specified minimum. A relaxation of 5% aggregate or 0.5 CPI is offered to SC/ST/PwD category candidates on the minimum eligibility score. Additionally, a valid GATE score is required for admission to the MTech programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived for the candidates with a BTech/BS (4-year) degree from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in BTech/BS (4-year). But as per the official details and fee calculation as per the semester-wise fee break up available for 2021-22 academic year, the total fee for MTech stands close to INR 77,000. A. No, there is no interview round for MTech admission at IIT Kanpur. Admission offers for GATE-qualified candidates are displayed on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Students must register at the COAP portal to view and accept their offers. Registration on the COAP portal is free.
