IIT Kanpur Cutoff 2026: JEE Advanced Previous Years Closing Rank

IIT Kanpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 ranged between 271 and 10482 for BTech admission for multiple specialisations, based on the last round closing ranks for the General AI category candidates, wherein, according to JEE Advanced cutoff 2025, BTech in Computer Science and Engineering had the toughest competition. Students aiming for admission should strive for a rank of 10482 or preferably lower to increase their chances for admission. Please note that different cutoffs are released for different categories and rounds.

IIT Kanpur accepts JEE Advanced ranks for admission to the BTech and other courses. JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to IIT Kanpur. The round 1 cutoff for the General AI category candidates is ranged between 270 and 9662. the lowest rank one can achieve is,  270 for B.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering for the General All India category candidates. In addition to that, CSE was the most competitive course among all the courses. Similarly, for the OBC AI category candidates, the CSE still having the lowest rank of 142. For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks varied between 70 and 1598 for core branches, including CSE, Civil, Chemical, etc. For the core branches, mostly the cutoffs are on the higher side for admission. Candidates seeking admission to core branches must target securing a cutoff rank of up to 1598 to improve their chances of admission at IIT Kanpur. For the General AI quota, the JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 for B.Tech admission ranged between 792 and 10727 in the final round. For students belonging to the EWS category, the closing ranks were between 118 and 1661 for B.Tech admission in the last round. Considering the cutoff range, it is evident that the EWS category had competitive cutoff ranks for admission as compared to the General category students. IIT Kanpur also accepts GATE exam scores for the admission to M.Tech courses. Candidates with 700 score can easily get admission to any course except Discontinued (Jul 2023)-M.Tech. in Microelectronics and VLSI at IIT Kanpur. The IIT Kanpur cutoff 2024 stood between 622 and 840 for the General AI category candidates. The toughest and the easiest course to get into IIT Kanpur were Discontinued (Jul 2023) - M.Tech in Microelectronics and VLSI and Discontinued (Jul 2023)-M.Tech. in Power Engineering for the General AI category candidates.  IIT Kanpur cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the MSc course and its various specialisations based on the IIT JAM entrance exam. The cutoff was published for different All India categories in the form of opening and closing ranks.

IIT Kanpur JAM cutoff 2026 has been released for round 1 regarding admission to the MSc in mathematics course for various All India categories based on the IIT JAM entrance examination.

To get admission at IIT Kanpur for the MBA/PGDM course, candidates have to secure a CAT percentile of at least 90 if they belong to the General AI category. 

Candidates who clear the exam cutoff are then eligible to take part in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Students who pass in both rounds are eligible for an MBA seat.
