Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (IIJNM), Bangalore offers a full-time PG Diploma lasting one year. The course is divided into two semesters. IIJNM Bangalore PG Diploma is provided across three specialisations. These specialisations are Print Journalism, Online/Multimedia Journalism and Broadcast Journalism.

IIJNM Bangalore PG Diploma admission dates vary yearly. As there is a limited number of seats, which are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, aspirants are advised to apply soon after the application window opens. Further, aspirants who apply before March 31 get a tuition fee concession of INR 20,000. The registration and class commencement dates usually fall in July. IIJNM Bangalore PG Diploma admission is entrance-based. Candidates shortlisted based on the entrance test are called for a Personal Interview (PI), followed by the counselling. All the steps included in the process of IIJNM Bangalore admission can be grouped under the following three categories:
STEP 1: IIJNM Bangalore PG Diploma Application Process 2025
The first step in the IIJNM PG Diploma admission process is to apply for admission. Aspirants can apply online or submit a hard copy at the campus. They must also upload or attach photocopies of their latest marksheets and degree/provisional degree certificates, along with an essay describing a recent national/international event. An application fee of INR 1,500 must also be paid to complete the application process.
STEP 2: Selection
IIJNM Bangalore PG Diploma selection process includes two rounds: Admission Test and Personal Interview (PI). These rounds are conducted online. The applicants are informed about the date and time for the test/PI once they complete the application process. Following the selection process, online counselling is conducted for the candidates and their parents.
STEP 3: Admission Confirmation
The results of the admission test and personal interview are communicated to candidates via email and by courier within ten days of the test. Selected candidates must pay the applicable IIJNM fee to confirm their seats. A confirmation fee of INR 75,000 must be paid within 15 days of notification of the results. The remaining PG Diploma fee at IIJNM Bangalore must be paid at registration. Students are required to report to the institute two days before the commencement of the academic year for registration.
