IIMC Aizawl Highlights 2025
Indian Institute of Mass Communication Aizawl (also known as IIMC Aizawl) was established under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in 2011. IIMC is Asia’s first Institute to have a dedicated Communication Research Department conducting research, analysis, and impact assessment studies for various Ministries and Government Departments. Indian Institute of Mass Communication has its headquarters in Delhi and has its regional campuses at Dhenkanal, Odisha (established in 1993); Kottayam, Kerala (established in 1995), Amravati, Maharashtra (established in 2011); and Jammu, J&K (established in 2012). The city of Aizawl houses various sister organisations of IIMC under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting including the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Doordarshan, All India Radio, etc, which are available for hands-on experience for the IIMC students.
IIMC Aizawl offers a postgraduate diploma in Journalism (English) and Digital Media. IIMC Aizawl also offers many short-term courses on Media Relations & Engagement and Public Relations for officials of various departments of the Government of India, State Governments, PSUs, and the Armed Forces.
