The review of J. K. Institute of Applied Physics.
Placements: The placement percentage was 0% for my batch at that time. Only one student of my senior batch got placed out of 15. Many companies visited that time, and most of the companies were IT sectors. The students were provided with TA duties in the lab. There is placement cell, but it was not efficient for M.Tech students.
Infrastructure: All the facilities were available on the campus for the students. Many experimental instruments were also there, but the proper arrangement and functioning were not available. Canteen facility was not available near the electronics engineering side. The hostel rooms lack maintenance. I faced many problems with the hostel allocation and maintenance.
Faculty: The qualifications of faculty members were good, but they don't want to teach M.Tech students properly. The PhD scholars used to take classes of M.Tech students. The course curriculum was not updated. We have not got any industry exposure. The course curriculum was a little bit useful.
Other: We faced many problems regarding our GATE scholarship, and finally, we got after one year of M.Tech completion.

The college is worthy and the placements are good.
Placements: The placements are not at all satisfactory, but it is a research institute, and students motivated enough for PhD take admission here. There is no pressure of academics so that one can study for government jobs and PSUs very easily. Even you can join coaching and jobs and just come here for 3 days exam, and you will be done.
Infrastructure: It has a beautiful and huge campus. The library is also good. The labs are satisfactory. The canteen is not at all useful bad stale pakoras, biscuits and chain are cringe-worthy. Girls' hostel is situated in a good place with shops all around. The food is not good, and most girls cook by themselves. PGs are readily available and are affordable.
Faculty: The faculty to student ratio is small. The teaching quality is good, but nobody forces you to take a class, and there are no shortage issues. The course curriculum is outdated, and it depends mostly on the present head of the department. Like this year they completely closed embedded systems as M.Tech specialisation.
Other: There are 2 fests per year, but there is no involvement of M.Tech students and no fresher farewell type of thing. It's a paradise for loners. Nobody cares what you do there. They give GATE stipend, but it is not monthly like most CFTIs they will give you all bundled up. There are many sport activities people can participate into.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the starting salary of an ECE engineer?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

The salary for an entry-level job is INR 30,000 to 45,000 and above per month. ECE graduates earn well after gathering experience for one-two year. Moreover, professionals with industrial experience stand out in terms of skills and can earn INR 8-12 Lacs per annum

To get good salary, ECE graduates should have a clear concept of designing, Analog circuit, VLSI, Microprocessors, Antennas, Network Analysis, and Programming.

Q:   What amount of programming is there in Electronics and Communication Engineering?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

A fair amount of programming is involved in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). ECE students typically learn at least one programming language, such as C, C+, or Python, in their first year of studies. They then use this programming language in subsequent courses to develop software for microcontrollers, digital signal processors, and other electronic devices.

    Students also asked

Q:   Is Electronics and Communication Engineering syllabus the same for all colleges?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:

The ECE syllabus is not similar in all the Indian colleges. Talking about the first year of ECE, the general subjects taught are almost similar that include Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Chemistry, Computer Programming, and the basic fundamentals of the field to provide a basic foundation for the ECE course ahead. Further, the Electronics and Communication Engg. syllabus will differ on the basis of the course level, specialization, and the college offering the course. Different colleges follow their own set of guidelines regarding the ECE course curriculum that includes both core and elective subjects along with practical lab work.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   Are there any elective subjects in ECE courses?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:

ECE courses do offer various electives for you to opt in the both the UG-level and PG-level ECE courses where you get the chance to pick a specific subject that interests you more, is easy-going for you, and in which you can even pursue a specialisation further to tailor your career path in a particular direction.
You can choose to pick a subject according to the specialised field within your broad ECE specialization, which you would like to enter into in the future, where you see yourself as a well-established engineer. For example, in BTech ECE, there are a variety of electives like Embedded Systems, Antenna Design, Fiber-optic communication, VLSI Technology, etc.
