JIPMER MD Courses & Fees 2025: Dates, Eligibility & Selection, Application Process

JIPMER is ranked five among the top medicine colleges in India in the NIRF rankings 2024. Thus, it is a good institute for medical students. During the three years of the course, 10 months are of peripheral posting and remaining 26 months include ward duties. For admission to MD at JIPMER, candidate should have a valid MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India with at least 55% aggregate for General and OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate for case SC/ST category candidates. JIPMER course fee is a cumulative of tuition fee, hostel fee, security deposit, etc. The fee for the three-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme at JIPMER is INR 46,580. JIPMER Puducherry MD course admission is carried out based on candidates score in the INI CET exam. INI CET 2025 Jan session result has been announced. Candidates can visit the official website to download their scorecards. Moreover, the INI CET 2025 exam for the July session was held on May 18, 2025.

Overall six months time is sufficent for INI CET preparation. This includes 4 month in depth study and 2-month for revision work. The moment a candidate plan to appear for the INI CET, first and formost things he/she should do is to draw a study plan. Focus on those subjects where you are strong in terms of concept. Candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC category have to score minimum qualifying cut off, 45. Candidates who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off percentile are eligible for the counselling process. Based on INI CET cut off a merit list will be released. The merit list comprises name of eligible candidates for the different counselling rounds. Candidates who have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology with a minimum of 50% aggregate along with English as one of the subjects can apply for BSc at JIPMER Puducherry. Yes, the student can get into JIPMER with 75% in 10th and 80% in 12th. JIPMER accepts NEET UG scores for MBBS admission, and doesn't consider 10th and 12th scores if the NEET UG is qualified. However, students need to qualify the eligibility criteria for NEET UG, before filling of the NEET UG examination form. JIPMER Puducherry inducts candidates for the MBBS programme based on valid NEET-UG scores followed by the counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The NEET last round closing rank for admission to the MBBS programme at the JIPMER, Puducherry was 17588. The exam paper has 10 questions from the English language and 10 from logical reasoning. JIPMER BSc admission is entrance-based. Candidates are shortlisted and admission is offered based on NEET scores. However, there are some specialisations, in which the admission can be granted on merit-basis. Candidates who are Class 12 pass with PCM/Biology and English as a subject with at least 50% aggregate (for general candidates) can apply. The aspirants must meet the age limit as well.
