There are a total of 141 seats for the JIPMER MD course. The seats are further bifurcated among the different MD specialisations. The highest seat count is for MD in General Medicine, which is 20. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for INI CET exam. The qualifying INI CET cut off percentile for the general category is 50%. Candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC category have to score minimum qualifying cut off, 45. Candidates who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off percentile are eligible for the counselling process. Based on INI CET cut off a merit list will be released. The merit list comprises name of eligible candidates for the different counselling rounds. AIIMS conducted INI CET 2025 July session on May 17, 2025.

The period of training for MD course is three completed years including the examinations  period at JIPMER Puducherry. However, for the students with a two-year PG Diploma in the same subject, the period of training shall be two years. JIPMER, Pondicherry offers twelve courses in its M.Sc program. The admission is made on the basis of marks secured in entrance exams. The entrance exams accepted for admission to M.Sc at JIPMER, Pondicherry are JIPMER Nursing and JIPMER PG. Other than these, JIPMER admission to MD/ MS courses is based on INI CET scores. INI CET 2024 Counselling is ongoing for the January Session for admission to MD/ MS courses at JIPMER.

The NEET last round closing rank for admission to the MBBS programme at the JIPMER, Puducherry was 17588. Candidates having their rank as specified by the institute cut-off list can register for the counselling round at JIPMER followed by document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.

The NEET 2025 application fee is expected to remain the same compared to last year. The category-wise application fees are given in the below table:

The application fee has to be paid in an online mode via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI. 

NTA released the re-revised scorecard on July 26, 2024. In this scorecard, the score has been revised as per the Supreme Court verdict of removing the bonus marks awarded earlier for the controversial Physics question, and deducting one mark from those who marked incorrect answer options. The city and centre-wise result data such as number of candidates appeared and scores obtained, by masking candidates' personal data was released on July 21, as per the Supreme Court order given on the hearing dated July 18, 2024. The NEET 2024 result for the re-exam, which was conducted on June 23, was declared on July 1, day day after the slated date. The final answer keys for the NEET 2024 re-exam was released by June 30, ahead of the result declaration. Earlier, the result of NEET 2024 was declared by NTA on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the original schedule, which was June 14, 2024. NTA released the final NEET answer keys on June 4, prior to the release of the NEET result 2024. The NEET result was declared in an online mode. Candidates have to log in with their registration credentials or application number and date of birth, and download their scorecard in PDF format. NTA also released the merit list containing the name, Roll Number, All India Rank and Percentile of the candidates. Along with the NEET 2024 scorecard, NTA also released the NEET 2024 cutoff marks or the qualifying marks/scores.
