Q:   Is the BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus the same for all colleges?
    A:

The BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus is not the same across all colleges, as every college committee sets a particular coursework pattern at the start of every academic year to be followed for the respective batch. Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, bad placements in 2023.
Placements: In our college, there were 70 students in our graduating class. Of those, one of my friends got a 4.7 LPA package and went on to work as a software engineer at LG Soft. Others went to startups and some went to foreign countries to pursue higher education.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi in the classrooms but it is available in the labs. The quality of the labs is good and the college canteen is the best thing about the college. We had a lot of fun there. A little more improvement is needed.
Faculty: The passing percentage is good, around 80-85 percent and the course is relevant to the curriculum, making it easy to pass. Still the quality of teaching is poor, as the teachers only explain the main concepts and if we want to score high we have to study on our own.
Other: I chose computer science and engineering because technology is an emerging field. Still the curriculum needs to be updated to include proper coding and presentation skills which are essential in today's job market.

It's better not to select this college.
Placements: There were no placements for our senior batch, and the placements were not good for our batch too. I got selected for Accenture, but I didn't receive any updates from the recruitment team or from the college, and the same thing happened with many students in my batch.
Infrastructure: Labs are okay, but not too good they are just manageable. There is no Wi-Fi facility, and the library facilities are poor. The infrastructure is not good, and the quality of administration is also poor. There is no encouragement for sports and games. The hostel is the worst. There are no good facilities for the hostel, and the security is bad.
Faculty: The faculty members were pretty good when I was there. Some good faculty members are still serving in the college. Some departments' faculty members have to be upgraded. There are many courses offered in the college, but they concentrate and give good facilities for only some courses.
Other: Nothing much interesting happens in the college.

Don't waste your time joining this college.
Placements: There were no placements for my seniors. Our batch students got placements but only for the computer science department. But, the selected students did not get a single call from the companies which have visited the campus for placements. The students who are working now are not offered any salaries. Overall, the placements are of no use.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available. Labs are not good and there is no proper equipment. The college is situated in the centre of an area which is like a forest. A first-year student has died in a small pond near the hostel. Wardens are not good, and the food provided is average, but the prices are too high. There is no proper ground available for sports, only a small basketball ground is available.
Faculty: The teachers in this college are good but some teachers don't have good qualification. They use only blackboards for teaching, and they never used a projector. Some teachers lack communication skills. The student-faculty ratio is 80:1.
Other: The only good thing about this college is celebrations. No scholarship is provided. No extracurricular activities are conducted.

Really I am very satisfied. It is the best college in Mangaluru and stands in the top 5.
Placements: Placements for my seniors batch was good, before that I am not sure that any placements were happening in the college. But from the last two years, many companies like Pompeii, Accenture, L&T etc. visited the campus for placements, and around 45 to 50 students got selected. They promised to our batch that we all get selected in various companies in the campus interviews.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and the library are really good. The Wi-Fi facilities are not provided. The ground is not available for playing, but there is a basketball court in the college. We conduct sports meet once in a year which is more entertaining. It happens in Mangaluru famous ground Mangala Stadium. The hostels are good.
Faculty: They are very helpful and maintains a student friendly atmosphere. They are ready to do any help at any time. They explain in every topic in detail, and they cover every concept which comes under the syllabus. They give notes and questions paper; they conduct tests after completing each module.

Other: In my opinion it is too good college for one who really deserves the best education. You will have to face any sort of problem in life if you are here. But you really enjoy the college life. More supportive teaching staffs, you never feel you are out of your home, you will be able to contact various people from all over India. You can put your own ideas into actions, you can explore your talent. More over the celebrations held would be incredible. The graduates who comes out of Karavali will miss all these celebrations, all occasions are celebrated here with a lot of enthusiasm.
