Madras School of Social Work offers a vibrant campus life with excellent facilities.

Placements: It has limited placement opportunities, and most UG students pursue internships or further studies. The highest package is 9 LPA and the average package for the PG program is 6 LPA. The top roles offered are human resources (HR), social work, counseling psychology, development sector, and entrepreneurship.

Infrastructure: The campus is well-equipped with Wi-Fi throughout, along with computer labs, a library, and all other facilities necessary for the course. The food is quite good, and students have access to a medical center, a sports room, and two canteens, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for both academic and personal needs.

Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified with many holding doctorates and possessing significant work experience. Courses especially in HR and Psychology are designed to be relevant and up-to-date, covering essential topics. The pass percentage is 40%. Exams are considered manageable for students who are attentive in class.

Overall an average experience but a good college to build connections and network.

Placements: There is no placements for B.Sc. . in psychology. The college offers only placements for post graduate programs in the college like MAHRM, MAHROD, MSW and M.Sc. counselling psychology and familt counselling. There are no placements for B.Sc. . in psychology or BSW.

Infrastructure: The college is small but the infrastructure is well maintained and used by all, library is one of the best libraries in universities, good working Wi-fi, classrooms are cleaned everyday. Hostel is not upto the mark but I was a day scholar so I am not sure how well hostelers like it.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified, the teaching quality is okay. Course curriculum needs to be updated for some subjects but it is good otherwise. A little more practical exposure would make the students ready. The semester exams are pertained to the subject taught from the books used for each subject.

Good faculty and supportive environment with average infrastructure and facilities

Placements: Placements are not offered for the course Bsc psychology in particular because it is not enough to be placed in a mental health institution. One can always make utilisation of the "case study" subject provided to build connections and work internships at mental health clinics or similar institutions. However, placements are offered at the PG level in our college or for other courses.

Infrastructure: I am personally not satisfied with the infrastructure of our classrooms as well as hostel(as heard from batchmates), but that's because it is not a heavily funded institution. Library is very well stocked with books, both subject material and others. WiFi facilities is there. We do have a psychology lab as well. Classrooms are not very well lit and don't have provisions like AC, but smart boards are available. Hostel facilities are similar. Quality of food is not great, cleaning isn't very regular.

Faculty: The course curriculum is up to date and very relevant, it focuses on various aspects of psychology and makes it easier for a student to select what specialisation they would want to proceed with. The teachers are definitely helpful and qualified, however, a few faculty members may not take classes regularly or lag behind in completing portions. Semester exams were not difficult according to me, quite easy if one is self motivated and attentive in class.

Other: I chose BSC psychology because my aim is to proceed with clinical psychology. I believe that MSSW has shaped me quite well and helped me grow more knowledge about the field and in general, a better person. What I wish would improve is definitely the infrastructure and administration of the college. It does affect the motivation of the students. Events include annual sports and concert (Dejavu) and several other regular fairs keep happening in college as part of some department activities.
