College review by Meghna Nair.
Placements: In this course, nearly 80 percent of students were placed in companies. The highest and average packages offered to my course students were nearly 12 LPA to 4 LPA. The percentage of students got internships in this course was 50 percent at companies like Mahindra and Cipla.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in my course were so super. Infrastructure of college was also good. Wi-Fi, classroom, library, and all things were available in my college. The quality and facilities of my hostel were so good. Medical was valuable. Sports and games were present for all students in this course.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They had great teaching qualities. Course curriculum was relevant, and students were industry-ready. But semester exam in my course was so easy to pass. Pass percentage was 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course to get the best degree. There was nothing to improve in my course. Events and campus were so good. Scholarship was not available but extra-curricular activities happened in my college.

Stricter than regular government colleges since it has autonomous status, but academics are strong.
Placements: You know how placements are now for non-NITs, IITs, or BITS. The same applies here, but you'll find opportunities since there are active clubs. Many civil students take up IT roles; few stay in core jobs, but faculty were saying civil has better placements. It really depends on how you utilize the facilities.
Infrastructure: The college has well-equipped labs and good facilities. Many sports grounds are available, and the campus is over 65 acres. The hostel is like a dormitory with a common bathroom. The library is also good, but first-year students don't get college hostels, so it’s going to be a little rough in the first year. You guys shouldn't go to Saniya's hostel for girls.
Faculty: Most teachers, many of whom studied there and did higher studies in NITs and IITs, came back to teach. They know what they're doing; they actually teach you, unlike regular government colleges. Also, unlike KTU colleges, you'll get a better curriculum and exams.
Other: The reason I chose this college and course is that I was an AJEE repeater, and going to some tier 3 private college wasn't worth it. The fees here are very affordable.

A nice college with great ambience and good infrastructure.
Placements: Our college provides pretty good placements. In our department, around 50% of students get placed. The major companies arriving here are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Key Value, etc. The mechanical department and the civil department have pretty good placements nowadays.
Infrastructure: Our college has pretty good infrastructure. The hostels, especially the college hostel, are some of the most superb hostels I have ever had. The food is fantastic. The rooms are also pretty good. When it comes to food, we have non-veg food almost every day. The department labs, especially mech and civil, are very awesome.
Faculty: Faculty members are pretty good. Some faculty members are very rude, and they do not put effort into teaching. Some teachers are very helpful. They are like friends rather than teachers. Our college is now autonomous, so the curriculum is updated and better than the KTU syllabus.

Placement was not as good.
Placements: Around 70-80% of students were placed in our course. Some students were placed in jobs that were not relevant to our industry, like BPO jobs, also offered in the name of Business Development Associate. Top recruiting companies were Larsen & Toubro, Reliance, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course are good. The library is available. Labs are well-equipped with the required instruments and machinery. The hostel facility is also good; all essential facilities like clean washrooms and fresh drinking water are available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of our faculty members is frequently good. Some professors were rude. The college provides industry exposure for industry-ready jobs. Semester examinations were of a moderate level. Almost all students passed.

Review of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed in my batch is more than 75%. The highest package offered in my course is 22 LPA. The lowest is 4 LPA. Top companies in India come here. The internship percentage in my course is 60%.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in my course are Wi-Fi, classrooms, a library, etc. Everything is available for students. The food quality in my hostel is super. A medical is available in the college. Sports and games facilities are present for all students.
Faculty: Teachers in the my course are very helpful. All teachers have great teaching qualities. This course curriculum is not relevant. Students go for industry visits. Semester exams in my college are so difficult. The pass percentage is 60% for all students.
Other: I chose this course to gain the best knowledge. There are no ways to improve my course. Events are so good. The campus crowd is very high. Scholarships are available in my college.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2027

Quite impressed with faculty, placement opportunities, infrastructure, and campus life.
Placements: I took a B.Tech in civil engineering from this college. The placement statistics for civil engineering are quite low. But if you work hard on it, develop skills, and score a good CGPA, you might get placed with a starting salary of 12 LPA. Recruitment from companies such as L&T, Shobha Construction, etc., are major civil-based top recruiters.
Infrastructure: This college has great infrastructure. The college is around 65 acres of land and contains many new departments such as data science, machine learning, and AI which are high in demand. There is a college library and also each department has separate library facilities. There is Wi-Fi on campus where they provide a limit of 20 GB/week. Classrooms are quite neat. There is a canteen called Ootupura where every meal is provided. It has hostel facilities for both girls and boys. They can accommodate boys but during the 1st year, I found it difficult to find a women's hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are quite knowledgeable. The minimum educational qualification is an M.Tech degree. Most of the teachers have a Ph.D. But since it is a college, we have the responsibility to learn by ourselves. There is no spoon feeding. The college has attained an autonomous position in the academic year of 2024. So we may expect new courses which may add value to the course. I am from a KTU batch, so I don't have much knowledge about the present college. The syllabus and semester exams are conducted by the college.
Other: The college provides good campus life with a technical fest called Takshak and a cultural fest called Sanskriti every year. Many other programs are conducted by the clubs of college like IEDC, ASME, ASCE, NSS, etc. Like everyone says it is not about the place but the people around you. I would suggest having healthy friendships so you can eventually enjoy being in college. It provides freedom for conducting programs. Most programs are coordinated by 3rd and final-year students. So basically campus life depends on how your seniors are actively conducting programs.
