B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2028
3.4
It has decent academics, good placements, and excellent infrastructure.
Placements: In MACE Kothamangalam, the ECE placement rate is 65%. The top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and UST Global. The highest package ranges from 33-34 LPA. The average package ranges from 4-5 LPA. Top roles offered are embedded systems, VLSI design, telecommunication, and software development.
Infrastructure: MACE Kothamangalam provides facilities like well-equipped labs, modern classrooms, a central library with online resources, and hostels with comfortable rooms and 24x7 security. It has hygienic and affordable food options. Our college has an on-campus medical center and tie-ups with the nearby hospital. Excellent sports infrastructure for both indoor and outdoor games is available. Some drawbacks include repetitive mess food, strict hostel rules, and limited sports equipment for niche sports.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Some students found a few teachers to be inexperienced. Teaching quality is good, with a focus on theoretical and practical aspects. The course curriculum is relevant, with a mix of core and elective subjects. The course curriculum prepares students well for the industry, but some students felt that more emphasis on practical skills would be beneficial. Semester exams are moderate to challenging, with a mix of objective and subjective questions. The pass percentage is around 60-70%, with some students scoring high grades.

My first year in MACE and how it went.
Placements: Placement drives begin at the start of seventh semester. Various companies with different eligibility criteria come here to hire students. The companies include Kalki technologies, Tech Mahindra, Tata Elxsi, etc. Placements are best for branches like CS, EC, MECH, CIVIL, etc. The average package is around 5 to 8 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: Each department has its own building with Wi-Fi facilities, classrooms, and a library. Hostel life is the most memorable part of college life. Hostels are excellent and the facilities provided are also top-notch. Food is amazing and we have a vast variety. Rooms can hold 3–4 people. Hostels are allotted on the basis of academic performance and distance from home.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and have degrees from prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs, etc. They are strict when it comes to academics and also are very understanding. You can approach them at any time. The curriculum here is quite old and boring. Not up to date with current world affair. There are two internal exams in a semester. The internal marks is calculated out of 50.
Other: The campus is really beautiful. It's a small campus but it has plenty of lush green trees and pleasant views. The infrastructure is also pretty good. We have two fests in a year: TAKSHAK and SANSKRITI. There are various clubs here to help you develop and grow.

The college offers good infrastructure, professors, placements, and fests.
Placements: Students become eligible for campus placements from the 3rd year of the course. In 2022, they had a total of 780 offers, and about 450 students were placed. The main companies include Cognizant, TCS, Trust Global, etc. The highest package was 33.34 LPA by Virtusa, and the average package is about 4-5 LPA. Based on past placement details, about 60-75% of students are placed every year through campus placements. My plan is to secure a decent LPA placement after my degree. If this is not achieved, I will go for my Master's.
Infrastructure: The college mainly has two fests: one technical fest named 'THAKSHAK' conducted every odd semester, and a cultural fest named 'SANSKRITI' every even semester. The college possesses a huge library with around 78,000 volumes of textbooks available for all students free of charge. The classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards and projectors. The faculty members are highly qualified professors who graduated from esteemed institutions. The sports and other extracurricular activities are not very strong in this college.
Faculty: I mainly chose this course because I have a keen interest in the engineering field. The curriculum is not very complicated, but there is a lot to cover and study in a short period of time. Also, it is not very friendly to present real-world applications, which is a major drawback of the curriculum. We should also try to study extra courses from external sources to improve our skills. The frequency and timing of exams are not very comfortable, as there are 3 sets of examinations in a period of about 5-6 months. A good side is that the exams are not very difficult to crack.
Other: The college offers good infrastructure with good professors and a calm environment for us. Overall, it is a very nice college for our overall development.

Join MACE to study, enjoy and become an engineer.
Placements: About 50-60% students get placed. The highest package was around 20 LPA and the lowest was 2 LPA. Average package offered was 4.5 LPA. Infosys, Bosch, Wipro, HCL, and Cognizant are the top companies. Around 50% students get internship opportunities in MRF, Cognizant, TCS, etc. Assistant engineer is the top role offered for interns with a stipend of minimum 10000.
Infrastructure: There is a central library with a huge collection of technical and non technical books. In addition to that, each department has its own library. All the students can access the college Wi-Fi. In classrooms, fans, lights, and projectors with screens are available. Qualities of hostel are also good. I don’t know much about the hostel, because I'm a day scholar. Sports facilities are really nice with the college having numerous grounds. Canteen food is really good.
Faculty: All the faculty members are qualified with a Masters or Ph.D. Degree. They all know their subjects very well. But a few of them have a very old and boring teaching pattern. Curriculum of the University is 70-80 percentage good. But, it should include more lab work than just having theory. Thus, the students can get good hands on experience. Semester exams are neither very difficult nor too easy. It maintains a standard.
Other: I chose this branch because I did not get Computer Science. Lab facilities and faculty members are good. Technical fest, TAKSHAK, is a national level fest and Art fest, SANSKRITI, is really impressive. There are many scholarships provided by the government, university, college, college PTA, college alumni association, etc. which the students can avail. Extracurricular activities are also good in the college.

I am absolutely satisfied with the college. The college offers sufficient placements and festivals.
Placements: In my course, about 70–75% of the students are placed on campus. The highest package offered in my course is about 33 LPA by Virtusa, and the lowest goes up to 3 LPA. The average package is about 4.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Cognito, TCS, Just Global, etc. The rate of internships is about 50–60%. Top roles are offered under electric vehicles, embedded systems, etc.
Infrastructure: Almost all facilities are available in our department and hostels. Classrooms are good, with sufficient space and comfort. All classrooms are digital. Wi-Fi is available with a limit of 12 GB per week. Labs have sufficient workstations and equipment. There is a huge library with around 80,000 books. The food available in the mess and the canteen is also good.
Faculty: The teachers are so helpful in our studies and are available at any time. All of them are very good professors from great universities. The teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is relevant and will be industry-ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. An average student can crack the exam without much difficulty.
Other: I chose this course because I have had a keen interest in engineering since my childhood. Electronics and communication engineering is a good course with a lot of scope in the emerging engineering industries. The campus has good facilities and surroundings and is overall a nice place.

The hostel offers gym facilities and stores, along with washing machines and refrigerators for inmates' use. Wardens and faculty members also reside in the hostel premises, ensuring constant supervision. There is 24-hour security. At the college, there are excellent lab and library facilities. Good sports facilities, including courts and grounds, are available. The classrooms are also well-equipped.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and provide high-quality teaching. They are willing to help students and establish a good bond with them, while also maintaining a certain level of strictness.
