- Applicants are admitted to UG programmes based on their score on Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) or JEE Main
- Admission to PG programmes is given according to the candidates' GATE & MHTCET MTech scores.
- Also, to be eligible for applying for admission to the MTech programme, applicants must possess a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised college or university and have a minimum work experience of two years in a relevant field

Shivaji University's DoT is more affordable for B.Tech, with total fees around ?3–3.5 Lacs including tuition.
MITAOE Alandi Pune is costlier, with total fees around ?5–7.5 Lacs including hostel.
If budget is a key factor, DoT Shivaji University is the better choice.
