MIT Institute of Design Selection Process

After completing the application process, candidates will be required to appear for the MITID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) in which applicants will be evaluated on several parameters and based on their performance in the DAT they will be shortlisted for the Studio test & Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

No, in my knowledge there is no other way of entering the institute without giving the MIT DAT exams.

DAT includes questions which are objective, subjective and a drawing test. The objective and subjective selections will be conducted on computer for drawing the question will be on the screen but the canditate must draw on a  A4 sheet . In the second round, a personal interview and portfolio review will be done and the results will be declared on the MITID websites.

The marks are as followed for Design Aptitude Test it is 25 for Portfolio review 25 marks and Personal Interview 50 marks.

MIT Institute of Design offers three years MDes programme under fourteen specialisation. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in the specific specialisation which is required to apply for the MDes specialisation they want to pursue.
