First step is to complete the eligble criteria (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design) next filling the application form of MIT DAT and scoring a minimum required score in the test. And finally appearing for the Studio test and the personal interview, which finalises the selection process of the course.

MIT Institute of Design offers three years MDes programme under fourteen specialisation. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in the specific specialisation which is required to apply for the MDes specialisation they want to pursue. For example: candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine/ Applied Arts, Visual Comunnication, Media etc. in order to apply in MDes in Graphic and Animation Design. Maharashtra Institute of Technology Institute of Design offers three years MDes programme across eleven specialisation. MDes is the flagship course of the Institution. Candidates are required to appear in the MIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test) to get into MDes programme. A valid score in MIT DAT followed by personal interview and studio test. As there is no facility for direct admission to the Institution, so candidates wont't be able to get into MIT ID without MIT DAT.

Des. in Interior Space and Furniture Design at MIT Institute of Design is a 2 years course at the PG level. The course offers admission to 150 students. 150 students can do an M.Des at MIT Institute of Design for a year respectively. MIT Institute offers an entrance exam for around 250 to 300 hundred students. So at least 150 students get a seat in the MIT Institute of Design.
