M.Tech. in Power System Engineering - Batch of 2020
4.0
It's okay regarding research work but quite dissatisfied regarding placements in core companies.
Placements: None of the senior students has placed yet. None of the companies has been invited for internships of power systems. Almost all companies are from software development zone so M.Tech students are not able to choose their core work. So very few placements are provided for M.Tech students.
Infrastructure: Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur has vast infrastructure regarding classrooms and labs. There are different research labs where it is quite favourable for research and self-study. The library is good. The equipment is also available.
Faculty: There are a number of faculty members in a particular course. Some of them are highly experienced and have a bulk amount of knowledge. They are quite experts in their field. The college offers a number of courses available which we can opt and gain knowledge.

M.Tech. in Power System Engineering - Batch of 2018

MNIT is one of the best research institutes in India.
Placements: Placements for our batch are much better than our senior batch. Around 60% of the students got placed from our branch of structural engineering, M.Tech programme. MNIT interacts with many companies or industries in the country. Almost 200 companies visit the campus for conducting campus interviews. Placements for UG (B.Tech) students are much better. The average package offered is around 6.5 LPA, the highest package is 24 LPA, and the lowest package is 4.5 LPA. MNIT's training and placement cell is very useful for us.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The campus has four sections, one has instructions building, second has central facilities, third has a students' hostel, and the last one is the staff colony. VLTC is one of the biggest institutional buildings in Asia, and its capacity is up to 6000 students. MNIT has better Wi-Fi facilities, labs, canteen and greenery on the campus. All types of food items like special lunch, idli, masala dosa, paratha, sweet, fruits, juice etc., are available in the canteen. I didn't face any issues during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: All the faculty members are good, well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching methods are quite good, and they generally used PPTs. All the teachers are doctorate holders and very helpful. The student to faculty ratio us 60:1. We got industry exposure. The course curriculum is useful and technology based.
Other: MNIT conducts a lot of events like a techfest, sports fest, quiz championship, fashion show, international and national scholarship programme, etc., in a year.

Placements are less for post graduates, but students can have an awesome college life.
Placements: The placements for the current batch are poor. Very few companies visited the college for M.Tech, ECE branch. So, I am a bit disappointed with it. For M.Tech, most of the companies visited to offer internships, not full-time placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of MNIT is awesome. The speed of Wi-Fi in the hostel and labs is very good. Now, even the whole CAT 5 and CAT6 cables are being replaced by fibre. So, the speed will definitely increase. The PC configuration in labs is very good, and the labs are open for 24 hours.
Faculty: A few faculty members in our college are awesome. They always encourage students for higher studies and help them to accomplish that. Even the syllabus of B.Tech is designed in such a way that it helps students to crack any technical exam. The faculty always help us to study more and more research papers. Even they publish their research papers.

It is one of the best colleges for engineering.
Placements: I am from renewable energy background, so I can tell you about the placements of my branch only. The placements are good in renewable energy course compared to other NITs. Some core companies visit the college to offer placement. The package offered to the students of my department is average, but the college provides the best opportunities in good companies.
Infrastructure: MNIT has a huge lecture hall called VLTC. The campus is spread over 312 acres with lush greenery. The campus of the institute is imaginatively laid-out with the picturesque landscape. The campus provides all the essential amenities for community living like staff club, hospital, bank, post office, community centre, gymnasium, playing field, guest house, canteen etc.
Faculty: The faculty members are well trained and specialised in their respective fields. The course curriculum is average. According to me, our curriculum is useful. We get industry exposure. The faculty use both manual and digital teaching methods. Most of the faculty members deal with practical knowledge.
Other: The only positive point in the sports department is the newly built tennis court. The basketball and volleyball courts are decent. The campus crowd is pretty good. The college connectivity is good. You can enjoy the holiday and hang out with friends because many malls are nearby MNIT. The techfest is good.

Overall, I was satisfied with the environment of my college as its surrounding was excellent.
Placements: For our batch, not many companies came for the placements. Out of 15 students, 4 students got placed from our batch. Ours was the first batch for M.Tech in power electronics, but they guided for the research fellowship and PhD. Overall, they need to work more on students getting placed from M.Tech.
Infrastructure: We have excellent infrastructure, but the medical facilities were not up to date in the college. We were provided with many sports grounds along with the coach. The gym facility was also available with separate timings for boys and girls. Many sports events were held on our campus during my M.Tech.
Faculty: The teachers in our electrical branch had good knowledge of their subject. They were approachable and helpful whenever required. We have done our M.Tech project with the excellent guidance from the faculty members and PhD holders. They all motivate us to work on the recent technologies for our project during M.Tech in the college.
Other: Every year, the college organises fest, where singers come to perform. There is also a sports fest held once in a year in the college.

This college has a good infrastructure and the lab facilities are ultimate.
Placements: The placements for M.Tech students are not good as they have the option of the software companies offering an average package of Rs. 3.5 lakhs. There are some private colleges for the faculty recruitment offering an average package of Rs. 3.25 lakhs. In our batch, out of 18, 6 students got placed. For the internship, Samsung has come and gave Rs. 30,000 a month for six months and took around 12 students from M.Tech-EE and M.Tech-EC.
Infrastructure: For its infrastructure, MNIT is the best institute. You'll get the computer centre which is open 24*7. The library facility is provided from 10 AM to 10 PM. Free Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus and as well as the hostel. For sports, there is one basketball court, a football cum cricket ground, a volleyball ground and an indoor racket court. We also have a gym at the sports complex. The campus is green and has Vivekanand lecture theatre which is outstanding.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified. If you are interested in learning, then you can use the lab facilities 24*7. My course was M.Tech in power system having 5 subjects in each semester for the first year and the second year. It is purely dedicated to your research work and dissertation.

I am satisfied with my college. The improvements are required for research.
Placements: The placements for a masters degree are not good here, despite the NIT status, especially the core streams like the mechanical engineering although placement for a bachelor degree is sufficient and average student can also get selected in good companies. Some companies which visited last year include Amazon, Hyundai, and L&T. Some coaching institutes also visited the campus. The average package offered ranges from 8-10 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is good with full facility labs to support academic and practical requirements. A huge library is available with a good number of books of the various domain. Good Wi-Fi facility is there across the campus and hostels. There are fully air-conditioned classrooms. Inter NIT sports events and annual sports meet are done to facilitate sports. Other cultural events along with the annual tech fest are held.
Faculty: Well-experienced and deeply knowledgeable faculty are associated with the college. Being the NIT faculty, most of them are PhD holders and are enriched with years of experience. They are good at teaching and are very supportive. The course curriculum for masters is quite flexible with various electives of your choice available.

8/10 for facilities, 8 for placement, 7 for infrastructure, 9 for faculty, and 7.5 for sports.
Placements: The placements are quite good for CSE and ECE branches. The student can get a higher package of up to 29 lpa, the minimum package of 2.9 lpa, and the average of 6.6 lpa. Many scholarship programmes are going on by the state and central government, and the private scholarship also. Companies came to the campus are L&T, Atkins, vedanta, Samsung, Morgan Stanley, Bosch, Infosys, and many more. And for the internship, the highest stipend offered is 1 lakh per month, 3 students got placed in D E Shaw.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure if the college is good. There are many labs with the number of PCs with high specification and many licensed software. Wi-Fi speeds up to 100 Mbps, and the downloading speed is up to 7-8 Mbps. There is a dispensary inside the college to provide the free medical facility to the students. In sports, there is not much involvement of the students. The hostel rooms are very congested, but it is good for a single person. The food quality is good and hygienic provided in the mess.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified. All are PhD holders and very knowledgeable. They are very supportive for the students. They also help to place the students in companies also. I am not getting any industry exposures, but they conduct some work in the underwater resource department on behalf of the college. The course curriculum is very good. There are many choices for a student to choose from the elective subjects, and there are the foreign language classes also going on like French, German which is for free of cost.
Other: As I see my college, I would rate it 8/10. Overall, it lacks in providing the hostels. There is only one canteen in the college. Location of the college is good, it is in the middle of Jaipur, in porch area, Malviya Nagar. There is a WTP mall also, and hangout places nearby the college to chill out.
