NIELIT Agartala admission process 2025 ois both entrance-based and merit-based. The institute is the 11 centre of NIELIT institutions in the country, established in 2009. It aims to facilitate the youth of Tripura to have easy access to education and training in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. The centre is AICTE-approved and its formal courses are affiliated with Tripura University. NIELIT Agartala admission to short-term courses is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. For long-term courses, candidates have to appear for NIELIT Exam. Admission to formal courses are conducted based on a candidate's academic merit. The application mode is online.
NIELIT Agartala Admission 2025: Eligibility & Selection Criteria
The NIELIT Agartala admissions are offered in more than 22 centres. Candidates seeking admission to NIELIT Agartala's long-term courses must appear for the NIELIT Exam. The duration of CHM programmes is six months and that of the rest of the programmes is one year. Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria of the course that they intend to apply for. To join the National Institute of Electronics and Information Techology (NIT, Agartala) also known as Tripura Engineering College, the students must follow the following guidelines:-
- First of all the candidate need to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and secure a merit list rank on the basis of marks obtained in this examination.
- To be able to appear in the JEE, one must have a minimum of 75% marks in Class XII Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (65% for SC/ST/)
- The candidate should be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective Class XII board examination.
- Once you have secured a decent score in the JEE register for the counselling process
- During the counselling process, candidates must select NIT Agartala as their preferred institute.
If your name comes in the merit list than for NIT Agartala, you would be selected and given an admission in the premier institute.

NIELIT Agartala Application Process 2025
Candidates can apply online through the student portal of NIELIT (student.nielit.gov.in). The step-wise application process is elaborated below:
- Click on 'new user' and create an account using E-mail ID and contact number
- Select the desired programme and NIELIT centre
- Upload photograph and scanned images of signature and left-hand thumb impression (up to 50KB)
- Enter personal details, corresponding address details and click on 'submit'
- Pay the application fee of INR 250 through debit card/ credit card/ net banking
Documents required to be submitted with NIELIT Agartala application form
Candidate must have an Aadhaar card while filling the application form. In the absence of Aadhar, the candidate may submit the following official IDs:
- Enrolment number of UIDAI (EID)
- Bank account (passbook with photo)
- PAN card
- Valid passport
- Valid driving license
- Valid photo ID card of student issued by school/college authority

NIELIT offers Protsahan Puraskar Scheme (erstwhile Scholarship Scheme) for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students pursuing NIELIT O/A/B/C level courses.
Eligibility for the scholarship:

- The income of the parents of the student from all sources should not be more than INR 1 lakh annually
