NEET PG 2024 cut off will be released along with the result. The cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that a candidate has to secure to qualify for the exam. NEET PG 2024 result will be declared on July 15, 2024. The cut off for NEET PG 2024 will be released separately for each category. Candidates have to score more than or equal to the cut off to qualify for NEET PG 2024 exam.The cutoff for NEET PG 2024 is the basis for shortlisting candidates for MD/MS/ PG diploma courses in India.

On the basis of cut off marks, a merit list is prepared, comprising candidates who will be participating in counselling for All India Quota Seats. For general category candidates, the minimum cut off percentile is 50th while for reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), the minimum percentile is 40th. Cut off marks is decreased at times if seats remain vacant to be filled up. Candidates will have to register online to participate in the counselling process for seat allotment. Q:   What are the qualifying cut off for NEET PG?

A:

Qualifying cut off vary as per the category. Candidates of unreserved category have to score little more than their counterparts of reserved category to qualify for NEET PG exam. Check the categorywise qualifying cut off in the table given below:

Q:   Who releases cut off for NEET PG?

A:

National Board of Examinations (NBE) releases cut off for NEET PG. It must be noted the cut off is releases along with NEET PG result. Candidates have to score minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. The minimum cut off is different for different category. For the general category, the minimum qualifying cut off is 50 percentile marks while for SC/ST, the qualifying cut off is 40. The cut off depends on a number of factors including the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appeared etc.

 

NEET PG 2024 Cut off

NBE will release the cutoff score with the result of NEET PG. Only those candidates who qualify for the examination are eligible for the counselling process. However, if the number of candidates who have qualified the examination is less than three times the number of seats, NBE revises the cutoff percentile.

NEET PG cut off 2024: Tie-Breaker

 In case of two students secure the same score in the NEET PG merit list 2024, then the following tie-breaking criteria will be considered for providing admission:

More number of correct responses: Candidates who have a greater number of correct responses in the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.

Less number of incorrect responses: Those with a lesser number of negative responses in the question paper will be placed at a higher rank in NEET PG 2024 merit list.

Age: The candidate who will be older than his/her counterpart will be preferred in case of the tie.

Higher aggregate marks: In case of the tie, the candidate who had secured higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be preferred.

NEET PG 2024 Merit List

NEET PG 2024 merit list will be released online based on cut off score. NBE will be released the merit list for All India Quota 50 percent seats on the official website, nbe.edu.in in PDF format. Candidates have to download the merit list which comprises candidate's roll number, category, NEET PG 2024 rank, All India 50% Quota Rank, and All India 50% Quota Category rank.  Candidates who will be included in the merit list will be eligible to participate in NEET PG 2024 counselling. These candidates will have to register online for NEET PG 2024 seat allocation.

NEET PG Toppers Cut off

The list of toppers for NEET PG 2024 will be released after result. Last year, Dr Aarushi Narwani had secured top postion by scoring 725 marks out of 800. Prem Tilak has bagged second rank with 721 marks in NEET PG 2023 exam. Dr. Shagun Batra had topped the exam with 705 mark in NEET PG 2022 exam.

A:

Yes. NBE reduces NEET PG cut off in case seats remain vacant after counseling rounds. Reducation of cut off makes more number of candidates eligible to participate in the counselling who were earlier ineligible due to low score. For 2023-24 session, NBE had reduced cut off to zero for all category. For 2022-23 session, the cut off was reduced by 25 percentile for each category. Q:   I didn't score the minimum cut off for NEET PG. Will I eligible for NEET PG counselling?

A:

No. Candidates need the minimum cut off to qualify for NEET PG. It must be noted only those who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off score will be eligible to participate in the counselling rounds for seat allotment. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts online counselling for seat allotment. Candidates have to register and declare choice for college and course for seat allotment.

Q:   I have registered for round 1 of NEET PG 2024 counselling. Should I register again for round 2/mop up round?

A:

No, online registration for NEET PG counselling is a one-time process. Those who have already registered once don't need to register again. Only those candidates who have not registered themselves during round 1 need to register for the round 2/mop-up round. Registration can be done in any round except last one on the official website. Mcc. Nic. In. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats.

A:

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will be conducting NEET PG 2024 counselling for 50% All India Quota Seats. Respective state authorities conduct conselling for rest 50% seats. Apart from registration, NEET PG counselling comprises steps such as choice filling, seat processing, seat allotment result, and reporting.
