Check NIFT Placement Brochure 2022

NIFT Chennai has a centralised placement policy for all its campuses across India. The institute witnessed a drastic fall in the placement percentage during NIFT Chennai placement drive 2019 as the placements dropped from 87 per cent in 2018 to 38 per cent in 2019.

This decline in the placements record was addressed by the Textile Minister of India, Smriti Irani where she suggested that companies can extend job offers to students before the on-campus placements.

As per the placements report of 2019, a majority of students did not participate in the placements drive because:

  • Below average salaries were offered by the companies
  • The number of companies that visit NIFT was very less in comparison to the vacancies
  • Students feel that NIFT is not a good option in terms of ROI

The pros and cons of NIFT Chennai.

Placements: Placement is fairly good. Almost 90% in accessory design. It depends on the student's caliber and portfolio rather than grades. Some of the courses struggle in placements but a good portfolio really helps. Companies are not very high paying initially. Maximum average packages are around 4.5 to 5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The building's structure is really beautiful, campus is small and cosy. The new girls' hostel is nice. The old hostel within the campus is pretty bad. Labs are nicely equipped. Hostel food is nutriti...

Absolutely satisfied with this college, everybody is helpful. Just go for it if you want success.

Placements: Everywhere in the country or abroad, it is one of the top designing colleges in India and holds 4th position in India, best for leather design and all programs. Many placement companies like Calonge, Hidesign, La Milano, and many more, just go for it if want a career in the design sector.

Infrastructure: The college has a nice infrastructure, good curriculum, and best design of the building. There are two buildings, one annexe building and the main building. The college has a positive environment, as told one of...

Great infrastructure and facilities, okay faculty members, placements are also okay.

Placements: Students apply for placements towards the end of the final semester. They can register for placements in as many nift campuses as they want and the companies will vary with each campus. Your portfolio will decide what kind of company you get. One must be alert in placements or they could end up in what is basically a salesperson job. The average placement packages ranges from 3-4 Lacs pa. With regards to internship it is advisable to look for your own company to intern at according to the kind o...

An outstanding campus architecture and exciting college crowd as well as diverse atmosphere.

Placements: The placements take place in the same venue, i.e., NIFT campus, where one can showcase their portfolios. The companies which normally come for placements include Flintobox, Titan, Reliance, etc. The average salary offered to the students was about Rs 30,000 per month.

Infrastructure: The NIFT, Chennai campus is one of the unique campuses in India. It is inspired by a Rubik's cube. The campus walls stand out of the concrete jungle surrounding, with its colourful outlay and angular architecture. Apart from that, the campus is equipped with Wi-Fi (free) as well as a resource centre with the latest fashion magazines, books and materials for studying. Although the labs aren't that equipped, as compared to other campuses the labs are workable. The classrooms have full CCTV cover ...

Best learning with best environment.

Placements: Placements and internship programs which are provided by the college were so amazing. I had learned a lot of things during the internship programme where I had applied theory skills in a practical way. The highest package which is offered in my batch is 12.2 Lacs. Even I also got teh placement of 5.2 Lacs in Bangalore.

Infrastructure: NIFT is already a brand and their is no question on the quality of infrastructure, classroom, workplaces, library, medical facilities. I was the hostler their throughout the cours...

A different experience filled with enjoyment with the locals and made a lot of friends.

Placements: This college has a central placement rule with lots of opportunities, and you can go to any NIFT campus for placement, but you can choose only 3 of the campuses. Apart from that, you can get PPO from the companies where you did the internships. As per the curriculum, you have to do three internships per semester.

Infrastructure: It has a unique infrastructure. As it is a designing and creative field, every campus has there own design and AC classes as well. I am from NIFT Chennai where AC is a must, and it also ...

Placements: Placements of our senior batch as well as ours were held within college campus. There were companies from North India to South India, as well as Renowned Designer like Sabyasachi company too came. Salary offered were minimum Rs 20000/mth to maximum Rs 25000/mth. In my batch hardly 35% of our batch mates got placed. All students had to do Internship of 2 months compulsory. So almost every students did their internship in their favourable companies.
